When a Florida man called for emergency assistance, he allegedly groped himself and one of the medical technicians while they administered treatment as he was being taken to a local hospital.
On March 14, a man in Naples was at his residence when he began feeling unwell. He noticed an odd mark on his body and thought he might have been bitten on his foot by a bug. He believed the bug bite was the cause of his ailment. The man called the authorities and asked for emergency assistance.
Naples police and Naples Fire Department medical techs went to the address, and they located the man in the bathroom. They decided to take him to the hospital. An EMS was taking care of the man as they headed to NCH Baker Hospital Downtown, and he allegedly started acting inappropriately.
According to reports, while he was having his blood pressure taken, the man placed his hand inside his pants. The EMS told him to stop, but he allegedly moved his hand in the direction of her leg and touched her thigh. She reportedly said, “Do not touch me,” but he allegedly left his hand on her until she removed it. A lieutenant reportedly witnessed the incident.
At the hospital, the police reported that the man continued touching himself.
He was placed under arrest and transported to the Collier County Jail where he was booked. He is accused of one count of battery on specified personnel. According to facility records, he is still incarcerated. The suspect has a history of arrests dating back to 2017 for drug offenses, theft crimes, and assault with a deadly weapon.
