The girlfriend of a convicted felon in Jurupa Valley was allegedly kidnapped by her boyfriend and held captive for almost a week.
On the morning of January 25, 46-year-old Robert Stephen Lopez Jr. reportedly showed up at his girlfriend’s home in Jurupa Valley, allegedly without an invitation.
When Lopez arrived at the dwelling he allegedly strong-armed his way inside and grabbed the woman. The suspect, who was reported as being significantly larger in stature than his girlfriend, allegedly violently forced her to accompany him out of her home although she was reportedly unwilling and resistant.
For nearly a week Lopez allegedly kept his girlfriend in a location that has not been revealed other than that it was somewhere within Los Angeles County.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the situation, and on Saturday morning the alleged victim was found and brought home to her family. It was reported that she had suffered from an injury during her reported abduction. The extent to which she was hurt has not been disclosed, but she did not need to seek medical help according to reports.
Lopez was taken into custody in Los Angeles the same day that his girlfriend was reportedly freed from her alleged imprisonment by the suspect. He was booked into the Robert Presley Jail on several felony charges, including kidnapping, battery on a domestic partner, burglary, and vandalism.
His bail was set at $55,000, and Lopez remains incarcerated as he awaits his first scheduled court hearing regarding the accusations.
