Early in June, 44-year-old Jaime Oseguera was taken into custody for allegations that he had sexually abused young girls for 15 years. The authorities purport that the abuse took place from 2005 to 2020.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children unit continued looking into the situation, and they believe they discovered more young females who were victims of sexual abuse at Oseguera’s hands.
At the beginning of July, based on the information they reportedly dug up the authorities bumped up the initial two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of incest charges against Oseguera to three counts of sexual assault of a child under 16, six counts of sexual assault of a child under 14, one count of sexual assault, nine counts of incest, ten counts of lewdness with a child under 14, two counts of indecent or obscene exposure, and four counts of open or gross lewdness.
The investigation also uncovered information causing them to believe that over the last year, Oseguera’s son, 20-year-old Mark Oseguera-Chavez, had been sexually assaulting one of the same girls with whom his father allegedly had relations.
The authorities believe that the men were both previously acquainted with the youngsters that they were accused of sexually assaulting.
Oseguera remains in the county jail on a $1 M bond.
Oseguera-Chavez was booked into the county jail, and he is facing charges for suspicion of four counts of first-degree lewdness with a child under the age of 14, one count of sexual assault against a child, and one count of distribution of obscene materials to a minor.
According to his arrest records, he is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
