Florida Man in Hot Water for Ramen Noodle Attack

A man has been charged with domestic battery after he allegedly attacked a woman with a scalding hot pot and the ramen noodles it contained.

On the morning of January 28, 21-year-old Brandon Smith was with a woman at a residence in Fort Pierce, Florida.

When Smith woke up, he reportedly began cooking ramen noodles.

According to the woman with Smith, he wanted to allow his dog onto the bed, but she did not find that acceptable. She reportedly expressed her discontent and told Smith to leave the dog on the floor.

The woman said that Smith became angry, and he grabbed the pot that he was using to cook the ramen. The man allegedly threw the contents of the pot at her, and when she tried to climb out of bed, Smith reportedly started to strike her with the pot.

The authorities were notified, and deputies with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office went to the residence.

When they arrived and spoke with Smith and the alleged victim, the couple each offered a different version of the events that took place during the altercation.

The alleged victim reportedly told the deputies about how she was assaulted after she told Smith she did not want the dog on the bed.

Smith reportedly said that the woman was injured when she was running around and chasing the canine. It was reported that he said she got burned by the ramen as a result of her horseplay with the pet.

According to the arrest report, a person witnessed part of the alleged altercation and told the police they could hear the couple arguing. The witness also reportedly said that Smith “is known to get violent with females.”

Smith, who has more than one prior criminal conviction, was placed under arrest and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail. He was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, and he is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
