Georgia Teen Accused of Attacking Pregnant Girlfriend

A Georgia teenager was jailed without bond after the authorities accused him of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend during a domestic dispute that allegedly escalated into multiple violent confrontations.

According to investigators, the incident began after the couple argued at the woman’s residence on April 11. During the dispute, the man allegedly took the woman’s phone, which led to another confrontation outside the home. The authorities said the woman, who was five months pregnant, then allegedly tried several times to strike him with her vehicle while he was walking away from the property.

A witness identified as the woman’s sister reportedly told investigators that the woman attempted to hit the man with the car multiple times before he pulled her out of the vehicle and took her keys. The authorities said he then entered the residence and temporarily prevented her from going back inside.

Police said the woman was eventually allowed back into the home, but another argument soon broke out in the kitchen area. During that confrontation, the man allegedly dragged the woman into a bedroom and attacked her.

Investigators alleged that the man kicked the woman in the stomach during the assault and made statements about wanting to harm the unborn child. The authorities also accused him of wrapping a pair of the woman’s leggings around her neck and choking her. Police said he later allegedly used his arm to continue choking her during the attack.

More than a week after the incident, both individuals were arrested on aggravated assault charges in connection with the dispute. The man was also charged with kidnapping and criminal damage to property, according to jail records.

The man remained held in the county detention center without bond following his arrest. The woman was later released from custody, according to public records.
