Jealous Man Burned Girlfriend with Clothes Iron

A Pennsylvania man is facing multiple charges after allegedly torturing his girlfriend and burning over 60% of her body because he believed she was having an affair.

According to reports, last weekend, a man and his girlfriend were in their Pittsburgh residence, and they began arguing when he accused her of cheating on him. The woman repeatedly denied the accusations, and he allegedly refused to accept her answer and spent the next four hours physically assaulting her. The man reportedly bound her hands and feet and began hitting her in the face and striking her with a belt. He also allegedly turned on the clothes iron and burned her all over her body. The woman needed to go to the hospital, but her boyfriend reportedly refused to let her go.

A few days later, the woman went to a local hospital, and they began treating her for multiple injuries, including burns on 60% of her body. They notified the authorities, and officers from the Pittsburgh Police Department went to the hospital to talk to the alleged victim. It was reported that she told them her boyfriend had instructed her to say she was injured when she was attacked by a stranger.

The man was taken into custody and booked into the Allegheny County Jail. He is facing multiple preliminary charges including one count of felony aggravated assault, one count of felony kidnapping, one count of felony intimidation of a witness, one count of misdemeanor unlawful restraint, two counts of misdemeanor possessing instruments of crime, one count of misdemeanor simple assault, one count of misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person, and one count of misdemeanor false imprisonment. He is currently being held without bail.

It was estimated that the woman would be at the hospital for at least two weeks.
