Man Arrested for Strangling Ex After Boat Trip

When a Florida man and his ex-girlfriend returned from a boating trip, he allegedly choked her and struck her several times.

On the evening of August 13, a 45-year-old man and his ex-girlfriend were on his boat, and when they were finished, they planned to leave from the Black Point Marina. Before they got to the shore, the man allegedly hit his ex in the back of the head three times and caused her to fall.

When they got to the marina, they took the boat from the water and loaded it onto a trailer that was attached to the man’s truck. The pair got into the vehicle with the man in the driver seat and the woman in the passenger seat.

According to reports, the woman tried to get out of the truck while it was in motion. The man allegedly began to choke her, and he pushed her head down onto the center console. He reportedly continued driving to his house with the woman in the vehicle.

When they arrived at the man’s home, he allegedly tried to force her to go inside, but she was able to get away.

After she escaped, the woman found someone on the street and asked them to help her. They notified the authorities on her behalf, and Miami-Dade law enforcement and rescue went to the location.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. It was reported that her body was bruised in several places, and her neck had red marks on it consistent with being choked.

The man was placed under arrest and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He is currently expected to face charges of felony domestic battery by strangulation, and misdemeanor battery. He was incarcerated in lieu of a $6,500 bond.
