A suspect was arrested after he allegedly beat a father and his infant with bricks while the dad was taking a walk with his children, leaving both alleged victims in need of many stitches.
In the morning on December 19, a man in D.C. was taking a stroll with his two children. His toddler was walking with him while he pushed his 11-month-old daughter in a stroller.
According to reports, the father was approached from behind by someone who had bricks in a bag.
The alleged assailant reportedly threw a brick at the dad, and it forcefully hit him in the head.
With what was reported to be a very large laceration on his head, the father tried to protect his children by begging the attacker to leave them alone.
The suspect reportedly retrieved another brick and threw it into the stroller, striking and severely injuring the baby before he ran away.
The police were notified, and one of the witnesses who said that they overheard the incident brought ice and towels to the alleged victims while they waited for the authorities to arrive. The family was taken to the hospital so that the father and his daughter could receive medical treatment.
It was reported that the father had a serious head wound that needed 6 stitches. The 11-month-old required 19 stitches, and it was reported that one of her facial bones had been broken.
The Metropolitan Police Department found a person they believed matched the description of the assailant and identified him as 44-year-old Jerome Razor. It was reported that Razor is currently homeless.
Razor was taken into custody, and he is facing charges for suspicion of assault with a dangerous weapon (brick).
