A Long Island dad is facing charges after he was accused of causing two houses to catch on fire when he allegedly instructed his 11-year-old son to light off a firework.

Accidents involving fireworks are a common hazard of Independence Day celebrations, and this year was no exception. A notable incident that occurred in the morning on July 4 took place on a residential street in Levittown, New York.

According to reports, an 11-year-old boy was hanging out with his father outside of their home. His dad had fireworks with him and reportedly gave one to his son and let him light it off. The child sparked the wick, but the firework malfunctioned and struck a nearby shed. The shed caught on fire, and the flames spread to their home, forcing the tenant who rents a room to vacate her space and run outside. The house next door also caught on fire, but the neighbors were not at home when the incident occurred.

A father whose daughter was graduating from high school is facing charges after reportedly crashing the ceremony when her name was called and shoving the Black superintendent to stop him from shaking hands with the girl.

On May 31, Baraboo High School in Baraboo, Wisconsin, held its graduation ceremony for the class of 2024. Several staff members, including the school superintendent, were on stage shaking hands with the new graduates when they walked across the stage.

In the middle of the ceremony, a 49-year-old man climbed on stage before his daughter shook hands with the superintendent. He reportedly pushed him away from the girl and said the man “was not going to touch [his] ‘F**king’ child.” The superintendent reportedly told the man to get away from him, and the audience reacted unfavorably to the unexpected event.

A South Carolina man was accused of kidnapping his toddler son, driving across state lines, and jumping out of his moving vehicle after lighting it on fire with the child still inside.

On May 8, the 31-year-old father of a 3-year-old child went to the home in Belton where the boy resides with his mother, violating a domestic violence restraining order the woman obtained a week prior. According to reports, the man assaulted the woman and threatened their child’s life. Afterward, he allegedly took the child from the house and drove away.

The authorities were notified about the alleged assault and kidnapping, and they set out to locate the vehicle. When deputies in unmarked cars spotted the car, they followed it without the driver knowing. They trailed the man down the Interstate, and he eventually crossed the state line and entered Georgia.

The long-distance boyfriend of a woman in Texas reportedly stabbed her with a pair of scissors and forced her to write a suicide note before allegedly attempting to take her to Mexico against her will.

On March 29, a 21-year-old man who had been engaging in a long-distance relationship with a woman from College Station for over a year allegedly went to her residence without an invitation. The woman allowed him to come inside, and while he was there, he allegedly stabbed a pair of scissors into her neck. What was assumed to be a suicide note was reportedly left in her apartment, and the man allegedly made her leave with him in his vehicle. He reportedly planned to take her to Mexico.

According to reports, the alleged victim sent text messages to her father and told him she needed him to call the police. The authorities were notified, and the College Station Police Department began to investigate the situation. They used the woman’s cell phone signal to get a location, and officers found the pair at a local CVS store.

A Florida woman was arrested after she notified the police to report that someone stole her marijuana and paraphernalia, and the police found out that she had multiple arrest warrants out of another county.

According to reports, early in the morning on November 17, a woman who was staying at a Best Western hotel in Stuart, Florida, called the police to report a theft. She reportedly said someone stole her marijuana.

The Stuart Police Department sent officers to the hotel to talk to the caller. When they arrived, the woman reportedly told them she met a man about a week ago, and she believed he stole items from her. She said she was missing about $30 worth of marijuana and the marijuana grinder that it was inside of.

An allegedly drunk driver was taken into custody on suspicion of several charges after he reportedly crashed his vehicle and endangered his children during a custody exchange. 

On October 9, just after 10:00 AM, a 32-year-old man from Oroville, California, was taking his children to a residence in Paradise to drop them off with their other parent. 

While the father was driving with the kids, his car reportedly struck an unattended parked vehicle.

A dad in Kentucky is facing many charges after he was reportedly caught driving with his young daughter on his lap while sitting on a sex toy and carrying several illegal substances in the vehicle. 

52-year-old Charles Crawford resides in Frankfort and has a 6-year-old daughter. 

Late in the morning on March 20, Crawford was reportedly driving in the local area. The man allegedly had his daughter on his lap.

A suspect was arrested after he allegedly beat a father and his infant with bricks while the dad was taking a walk with his children, leaving both alleged victims in need of many stitches. 

In the morning on December 19, a man in D.C. was taking a stroll with his two children. His toddler was walking with him while he pushed his 11-month-old daughter in a stroller. 

According to reports, the father was approached from behind by someone who had bricks in a bag.
