Man used Cinnamon Roll Box to Rob Market

A man in Nebraska is facing multiple charges after allegedly putting his hand inside a cinnamon roll box to hold up a convenience store.

Just after midnight on February 27, a man went into a Kwik Shop in Lincoln and walked up to one of the female employees. With his hand reportedly concealed inside a white box that used to contain cinnamon rolls, the man allegedly demanded the clerk give him cash.

It was reported that the woman thought the alleged robber might have been concealing a gun inside the box, and she gave him the cash he asked for.

The authorities were notified, and officers from the Lincoln Police Department went to the location to investigate. They found a man they believed was the suspect, and while trying to talk to him about the situation, he reportedly ran from the officers. According to reports, he did not get far before they caught up to him.

After identifying him, the officers searched the man to see if he had anything illegal on his person. They reportedly discovered he had a wad of cash, a handgun, and 4.1 grams of a substance the police believed was methamphetamine. It was also reported that he is a felon who did a two-year prison sentence for an assault-related crime.

The 24-year-old man was taken into custody and booked into the Lancaster County Department of Corrections. He is facing a multitude of preliminary charges including robbery, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance, and use of a firearm to commit a felony. According to the jail website, he is still incarcerated.
