A woman’s daughter allegedly threw tacos at her when they were having a disagreement about whether their house was too dirty.
On the night of October 23, 20-year-old Braiden Lankford was with her 50-year-old mother in their family home in Tampa Bay, Florida.
According to reports, her mom was sitting on the sofa, and Lankford was in the kitchen with a couple of tacos.
It was reported that Lankford and her mother were talking about whether the house was clean enough. The pair reportedly have different standards about what constitutes clean, and they began to argue.
During their reported disagreement, Lankford allegedly hurled two tacos at her mom, and the food reportedly struck the woman in the head.
The Largo Police Department was notified about a possible domestic violence situation, and officers went to the address.
Officers took note of the appearance of the residence when they arrived. It was reported that they saw food bits that looked like they were taco ingredients scattered around on the sofa. According to the criminal complaint, the alleged victim had remnants of the food on the back side of her shirt, as well.
The officers were told that Lankford threw tacos at her mother while they were fighting.
Lankford reportedly began to speak to the police about the situation and tried to explain that she was frustrated with her mom during their heated discussion. She allegedly said she threw the tacos, but that she never meant for them to hit her mother.
The authorities read Lankford her Miranda rights, and the woman decided that she would no longer speak with them.
Lankford was placed under arrest and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. She is expected to face charges for misdemeanor domestic battery.
As a condition of her bond release, Lankford was forbidden from contacting her mom in any way.
