Two parents with young children were allegedly partaking in public sex acts in a park while their little ones were left home alone.
Around 1:00 am on Friday, a man and woman were spotted by a police officer while they were allegedly in the middle of having sex on the bike path in a park located in North Liberty, Iowa.
When the officer came across the pair, they were identified as Daniel Walshire, and his 31-year-old girlfriend, Rebekah Mecca.
Walshire allegedly had his pants pulled all the way down and was positioned on his back with Mecca reportedly completely unclothed and straddling him.
The officer believed that the couple had been consuming alcohol, and they both consented to a breath test. Walshire, who allegedly told the cop that he had been drinking some wine, had his blood alcohol content recorded as .182, and Mecca blew a .04.
While interacting with the officer, 32-year-old Walshire allegedly disclosed that he had left his 3-year-old son at Mecca’s home with the woman’s 9-year-old daughter while they went for their alleged romp in the park.
The officer determined that, in addition to their alleged public drunkenness and sex acts, they had neglected to ensure that their children were safe due to their ages and their presumed inability to care for themselves.
Walshire and Mecca were taken into custody and booked in the Johnson County Jail on suspicion of child endangerment, and public intoxication.
