A Crawfordsville, Indiana man is facing charges after two separate incidents were reported from two teenage girls who have accused him of sexually assaulting them.

In early February a 16-year-old girl confided in her father and shared information with him about how she was the alleged victim of a sexual assault that took place over the summertime in 2015.

The young woman explained to her dad that she and her sister accompanied the accused and one of his friends on a visit to his home so they could all watch a movie together. She said that while viewing the film she had been sexually assaulted by the man that she identified as Zachary W. Grater, who is now 22-years-old. She explained that she didn’t feel comfortable coming forward about the occurrence sooner because she was afraid that had they become aware, she would have suffered from her school peers treating her badly.

A man who was reportedly seeking revenge on a woman that no longer wanted to continue a relationship with him was arrested after he allegedly distributed erotic pictures of her to her employer.

Seminole County, Florida, resident Giuseppe Garibaldi made the acquaintance of a woman who works as a preschool teacher that he connected with through an online dating site. After meeting in person in November they began spending time together as friends. Though they did not have an established romantic relationship they engaged in sexual acts approximately five times.

Both amidst having sex, and also during the time that the woman was asleep, Garibaldi is accused of taking photographs of the victim after their second intimate tryst without her knowledge. He used the pictures to intimidate the victim by threatening to share them with others when he became jealous from the belief that she was dating other men.

A woman from Texas allegedly created accounts online in her ex boyfriend’s name and used them to issue murderous threats to herself and another woman, causing him to be thrown in jail several times.

In September, 22-year-old Lisa Marie Garcia purportedly began creating fake social media accounts on sites such as Facebook and Instagram using her ex-boyfriend’s name and information to create the profiles. She has been accused of using these accounts in order to issue death threats to herself and another woman with whom he has a child making it appear as if he was composing the threats himself.

Garcia used the content of the messages in an attempt to cause legal trouble for Brandon Berrott, and he was taken into custody when she reported the threats. After his release she continued using the social media accounts with Berrott’s name in order to construct more threats toward herself, and then contacting the police.

On Tuesday, Chicago police reported that they were looking for five to six men who allegedly sexually assaulted a 15 year old girl, while it was being streamed live on Facebook.

The teen had been missing since Sunday night. The girl’s mother had gone to the police on Monday and approached Sgt. Eddie Johnson as he was leaving a news conference, with a screenshot from the live video of the assault. The girl was then found by Chicago detectives on Tuesday.

It is reported that dozens of people had watched the assault live on Facebook’s live feed but none reported the incident to police. The video has since been removed from the site.

Everyone has heard the Miranda advisement “You have the right to remain silent. Everything you say can and will be used against you…” As an Orange County criminal defense lawyer, I would like everyone to hear that everything you post on Facebook or other social media will be used against you. In just the last few months I’ve seen the following:

-Two gang members and a friend post a video of a fight they got in with a rival gang member.

-A woman posts a picture of herself holding a meth pipe and blowing a ring of smoke.
