Suspected Scammers Scored Hundreds of Free Flights

Three people are being accused of creating fake airline employee identification cards in order to fly without having to buy tickets.

In early May of 2017, a man allegedly tried to take a flight out of Los Angeles International Airport on Spirit Airlines and when he was asked for identification he produced what is suspected as a manufactured card claiming that he is an employee of Mesa Airlines.

Upon investigation, the authorities purport that the man, identified as 25-year-old Alphonso Lloyd, was connected with two other suspects in the matter.

Armed Man with Badge Posing as FBI Agent Attempts to Enter LA Jail

On Tuesday at a jail in downtown Los Angeles a man was taken into custody when authorities alleged that he tried to enter the detention center using a fake badge, and he was said to be armed with weapons.

Around 10:00 p.m. on March 6, 28-year-old Greg Baghoomian of Sunland reportedly entered the Inmate Reception Center of the Los Angeles Men’s Central Jail and walked up to the desk with a badge. He flashed the identification and tried to enter the facility, but deputies on duty would not allow him to inside before verifying his identity.

Before authorities were able to authenticate his status as an FBI agent as his badge displayed Baghoomian allegedly fled from the Inmate Reception Center and fled in the direction of the Men’s Central Jail across the street. He was apprehended by deputies who were alerted of his impending arrival from authorities at the reception center.

Woman Makes Murder Threats while Doubling as Ex-Boyfriend on Social Media

A woman from Texas allegedly created accounts online in her ex boyfriend’s name and used them to issue murderous threats to herself and another woman, causing him to be thrown in jail several times.

In September, 22-year-old Lisa Marie Garcia purportedly began creating fake social media accounts on sites such as Facebook and Instagram using her ex-boyfriend’s name and information to create the profiles. She has been accused of using these accounts in order to issue death threats to herself and another woman with whom he has a child making it appear as if he was composing the threats himself.

Garcia used the content of the messages in an attempt to cause legal trouble for Brandon Berrott, and he was taken into custody when she reported the threats. After his release she continued using the social media accounts with Berrott’s name in order to construct more threats toward herself, and then contacting the police.

Dine and Dash on $7 Waffle House Check Reveals ID Theft Ring

Two men dining at a Waffle House in Louisiana on Saturday allegedly left the restaurant without paying their bill totaling $7.81. Workers at the establishment notified law enforcement reporting the incident, and also disclosed that the men drove off in a U-Haul van.

While police took statements from employees of the restaurant, patrolling officers noticed a U-Haul fitting the description parked in the lot of a hotel in the vicinity. As they approached the van the officers immediately apprehended the driver, California resident Stayshawn D. Stephens. The passenger, identified as Richard A. Brown, of Indiana, tried to escape into the forest on foot, but a K-9 officer exposed his whereabouts and he was taken into custody.

Upon inspection of the contents of the van, Deputy Chief Daniel Hunter reported finding credit card skimmers, which are electronic devices with the ability to store personal information gathered by swiping credit cards. They also discovered fake ID’s, credit cards, and a bill from a Waffle House for $7.41.
