A woman in Illinois was arrested after a traffic stop revealed that she was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol with two minors in the vehicle.

Just after midnight on June 12, a woman from Rockford was driving in Chicago Heights with two young passengers, ages 12 and 15. An officer was in the area and reported that they saw the Chevrolet being driven well above the posted speed limit without taillights. They also noted that the driver was not using turn signals when changing lanes. The officer began to pursue the vehicle, and when the woman pulled into a nearby Shell Gas Station they initiated a traffic stop.

According to reports, when they were talking about why she was pulled over, the officer noted that they could smell alcohol, and they believed the origin was the woman’s breath. They also asserted that she was displaying several indicators of intoxication. When she was asked if she had anything to drink, the woman allegedly said she drank half of a pint-sized bottle of Hennessey.

A New Jersey man was allegedly driving an e-scooter and he is facing charges for allegations that he was navigating the electric vehicle while intoxicated.

In May, the city of Hoboken employed a 6-month program in order to see how beneficial it would be if electric scooters were readily available for people to rent as a mode of transportation. Their goal is to reduce traffic and give people an accessible and more environmentally friendly way to get around the city. The e-scooters have been issued an 18 MPH speed limit, and they are only permitted to be driven on the street and in bike lanes.

On Sunday afternoon, Hoboken officers reported that they spotted a man who was allegedly walking around in an off-balance manner, and they allegedly watched him proceed to unlock and climb on an e-scooter.

While being apprehended for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol the suspect being detained reportedly made several comments that were racist in content to the arresting African-American deputy.

Just prior to midnight on February 7, the authorities received a report regarding a Lexus that was being operated in an unsafe manner.

When deputies dispatched to the area they found that the driver of a vehicle matching the description they were given, 53-year-old Julie Edwards from Deland, Florida, was displaying signs of drunkenness while they were interacting with her.
