A Fayette County woman was hospitalized after an alleged assault that investigators said left her with serious injuries.

According to court documents, the alleged victim eventually escaped the residence and ran to a neighbor’s home for help. She reportedly told investigators that the suspect had consumed several vodka and cranberry drinks before passing out, allowing her to get away.

Investigators said the woman suffered a severe head injury during the incident. According to the affidavit, she reported that the suspect repeatedly struck her with a metal water bottle, causing a deep wound that exposed part of her skull. Authorities alleged that after the injury occurred, he forced her into a bathroom and attempted to close the wound using superglue. Deputies also observed bruising around her neck.

A Wisconsin man could spend over three years in prison and have to pay a $10,000 fine if he is found guilty of a felony charge stemming from an accusation that he added superglue to one of his coworker’s beverages on multiple occasions.

According to reports, a woman who works at the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds took a sip from a Coca-Cola on her desk, and she thought something tasted off. She believed it had an unnatural chemical flavor. In the following weeks, the woman sipped several additional sodas that appeared to have the same unusual taste. She got sick to her stomach after drinking each of the colas, and she started to suspect someone was putting something in her beverages. On March 20, the woman installed a surveillance camera near her workstation to see if she could figure out what was going on.

Later that morning, the woman viewed the footage and reportedly saw the man with whom she shares an office standing at her desk wearing gloves and holding a tube in his hand. He allegedly held the tube over her beverage and appeared to squeeze the tube, reportedly causing the liquid to go into the soda can. Officers from the Wisconsin State Fair Park Police were in the vicinity, and the woman told them about the situation. She shared the video with them, and they searched through her coworker’s section of the office. They reportedly found a pair of gloves, one with a tube of Gorilla glue inside, and the other holding the cap.
