A man has been charged with first-degree robbery after he allegedly walked into a Voodoo Doughnuts with an ax and proceeded to steal sweets from the establishment.
Around 3:30 am last Saturday, a man reportedly entered the downtown Southwest Portland Voodoo Doughnuts and reportedly wanted a box of the well-known, unique pastries that they offer.
As reported by Portland Police, the man, later identified as 40-year-old Christopher L. James, was allegedly carrying an ax that was just over a foot in length when he went inside the store. He allegedly used the tool to intimidate the workers into allowing him to walk behind the service counter and help himself to a box of the doughnuts in the display case.
