The authorities said a Huntley man remained in custody after he allegedly attempted to flee while under supervision at a hospital following his arrest.

According to a criminal complaint, the man had been transported for medical treatment after being taken into custody. While at the hospital, he was seated with an officer and in restraints when he reportedly requested to use the bathroom. The authorities said that after the restraints were removed, he left the room and moved through a nearby exit in an alleged attempt to get away.

An officer quickly pursued him and brought him back without further incident. Prosecutors later argued that the alleged behavior raised concerns about whether the man would comply with court proceedings if released.

A man has been charged with first-degree robbery after he allegedly walked into a Voodoo Doughnuts with an ax and proceeded to steal sweets from the establishment.

Around 3:30 am last Saturday, a man reportedly entered the downtown Southwest Portland Voodoo Doughnuts and reportedly wanted a box of the well-known, unique pastries that they offer.

As reported by Portland Police, the man, later identified as 40-year-old Christopher L. James, was allegedly carrying an ax that was just over a foot in length when he went inside the store. He allegedly used the tool to intimidate the workers into allowing him to walk behind the service counter and help himself to a box of the doughnuts in the display case.

A Russian history professor who is renowned for his depiction of Napoleon was arrested after he was pulled out of a river while intoxicated and in possession of a backpack of limbs that had been removed from a woman’s body.

63-year-old Oleg Sokolov is a professor of history at Saint Petersburg State University who is well-versed in French military history, as well as a top player in historical re-enactment activities. Sokolov has shown a strong attachment to the life of Napoleon Bonaparte by writing more than one book about the French general, in addition to dressing in period costume to depict his likeness at historical events.

For the past 5-years, Sokolov had been dating an ex-student, Anastasia Yeshchenko, who also shared his passion for French history. The couple reportedly lived together and collaborated on some of Sokolov’s writings about Napoleon.

A man and his son who had been drinking together got into an argument leading to the father alleging that his son had assaulted and bit him during the incident.

21-year-old Jason Eugene Radginski and his father had been drinking alcohol together when things allegedly became aggressive in nature due to a disagreement about Radginski’s mom.

According to the statement given by the alleged victim, Radginski reportedly got physical with his dad by punching him and using his elbow to hit him, as well as biting him in several places.

While the authorities were responding to an emergency call regarding a possible injury, the man who asked for help is facing charges after they discovered methamphetamine inside of his residence.

On Wednesday, 911 received a call from a man stating that he needed help because he had been injured when he was hit in the head with an ax.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies went to the address and discovered the man who allegedly placed the call standing in the doorway talking to himself and using obscene language.
