An 18-year-old Florida woman was arrested for domestic violence after allegedly physically assaulting her 65-year-old boyfriend causing him to bleed from his injuries.
Just after 10:00 p.m. on April 9, a woman, 18, and her 65-year-old boyfriend of four months were together at their shared residence in Clearwater.
According to reports, something caused the woman to physically attack her beau. She allegedly punched him in the body and head, in addition to throwing him on the ground in the front yard.
An anonymous caller notified the authorities about the alleged battery, and officers with the Clearwater Police Department went to the address to investigate the report.
The police reported that the woman was panting and sweaty, and her boyfriend’s arm was bleeding from a cut. The man said he had been hit in the ribs and head before he was knocked onto the ground.
When speaking with the woman, it was reported that she was in a heightened emotional state.
It was reported that she said she had gotten into a physical altercation with a couple of girls, but allegedly later proclaimed that she hit her boyfriend.
When the police tried to read the woman her rights, she spoke over them, and they were not able to complete the process.
The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the Pinellas County Jail, where she was held in lieu of a $2,500 bond. She is expected to face one count of felony battery on a person aged 65 or older.
As of today, the jail records reflect that she is still incarcerated. If she posts bond and is released, the woman has been prohibited from going near the man or his residence.
