Stand-up comedienne and actress Tiffany Haddish was arrested in Southern California for her second DUI after she was found unconscious in her car after a Thanksgiving charity dinner event.
On November 23, the Laugh Factory hosted its 43rd free annual Thanksgiving dinner event. According to a press release, “Laugh Factory welcomes those who are away from home, those who are underserved, or those who are simply in need of a warm meal and some good laughs.” This year, Tiffany Haddish, Tim Allen, and Alonzo Bodden were some of the stars who helped serve the guests and put on a comedy show for the diners.
The following morning, just before 6:00 AM, a citizen notified the authorities to report that someone was in their car with the engine running, and they appeared to be asleep.
Officers from the Beverly Hills Police Department went to the location that the caller provided. When they arrived, they noted that no accidents had taken place. They reportedly found that the car was stopped in a spot that was blocking the road, and the engine was still running. The officers reportedly saw the woman sleeping while leaning over the steering wheel.
The police woke up the driver, and she was identified as 43-year-old Tiffany Haddish. The officers believed she was intoxicated. It was reported that she was cuffed without incident.
She was booked into the Beverly Hills Police Jail, and she is facing preliminary charges for suspicion of driving under the influence, as well as being cited for improper stopping on a roadway. Haddish was released a few hours later, and she is scheduled to appear in court at the beginning of December.
It was reported that Haddish was arrested for a DUI near Atlanta, Georgia, in January 2022 as well.
