Victim of DUI Accident Trapped Suspect at the Scene

A woman accused of driving under the influence reportedly got into an accident with another vehicle and tried to flee, and the alleged victim used his car to trap her at the site.
Dana Winfrey, 24, resides in Antioch, Texas, approximately 12 miles from Nashville.
On October 30, Winfrey reportedly went to The Dogwood Nashville bar.
After leaving the establishment, Winfrey allegedly got into her vehicle and tried to drive out of the parking lot.
Winfrey and another car reportedly got into a collision. The woman allegedly attempted to drive away from the scene without interacting with the other car’s driver.
The other person involved in the accident followed Winfrey, and when he caught up with her, he used his vehicle to block hers until the authorities arrived.
When the police got to the site, they talked to Winfrey and the alleged victim to find out what happened.
The alleged victim said Winfrey hit his car and left, and he let them know that he blocked her until they got there. According to the arrest warrant, the man presented them with a video he recorded that showed Winfrey’s car leaving the scene.
When they talked to her, Winfrey reportedly told the officers that the other driver was the one who hit her car. She also reportedly told them that she only drank one mimosa while she was at the bar.
The affidavit noted that they could smell alcohol when they were near Winfrey, and that “she appeared unsteady on her feet, had slurred and mumbled speech, and began crying when speaking to officers.”
Winfrey, who has never had a DUI charge before, was taken into custody. She is facing charges for suspicion of DUI, violation of the implied consent law, and leaving the scene of an accident, and she was released on bond.
