Woman Accused of Kidnapping Boy Over Bullying Dispute

A Utah woman was charged after the authorities said she forcibly took an 11-year-old boy from a neighborhood street and brought him to her home over an alleged bullying dispute involving her children.

According to court documents obtained by local media, the incident occurred in September 2025 in a Provo neighborhood. Investigators said the woman had been driving through the area looking for the boy, who she believed had been bullying one of her children.

The affidavit stated that the woman allegedly located the boy while he was riding his bike, blocked his path with her vehicle, and made him get inside. The boy was then allegedly taken to her home without permission from his parents.

Once there, the woman reportedly confronted the child and demanded that he apologize to her daughter. Authorities said the boy did apologize, but the situation escalated further. The woman allegedly made threatening remarks, including telling the boy he was “lucky” she had not run over his bike and warning that her husband could harm him.

The boy’s mother later told a local news outlet that tensions between the children had been ongoing, claiming her son felt overwhelmed by attention from the woman’s daughter before the incident. She also alleged that the woman never contacted her directly about the situation.

Investigators said the child experienced significant emotional distress following the encounter, including anxiety that disrupted his normal routine.

In a statement provided to a local outlet, the woman’s attorney reportedly denied the allegations and suggested the claims were inaccurate, citing ongoing issues involving alleged bullying at the children’s school. School officials declined to comment.

The woman, who had reportedly been employed as a crossing guard, was no longer working in that role after the allegations surfaced. She was charged with one count each of child kidnapping and aggravated child abuse.
