Woman Imprisoned and Tortured by Man She Met on Dating App

39-year-old James Larson Jr. was released from an 8-year prison term approximately two weeks ago. Since he was freed from the Oklahoma facility, Larson Jr. has been living at his father’s home in Lake Arrowhead, Missouri.

During the second week of May, Larson Jr. was using a dating app when he made the acquaintance of a 31-year-old woman from Kansas City.

According to reports, Larson Jr. invited the woman to come to his home for a visit. It is believed that she arrived on May 12.

Larson Sr. reported that he saw his son at the house with the woman on May 13, and he did not believe anything seemed amiss. The man left the couple alone at the house and did not come back until later in the evening.

When Larson Sr. returned to his residence, he reported that Larson Jr. was acting out of character.

Larson Jr. allegedly spent the following two days subjecting the woman to horrific abuse. He reportedly would not allow her to use the bathroom and she had to wear urine-soaked pants. He allegedly did not allow her to eat or drink. According to the Clinton County Missouri Sheriff’s Office, “she was severely assaulted and tortured.”

Though he said that he tried, Larson Sr. was unable to get the woman out of the home safely.

The alleged victim found a way to get out and ran to a neighboring home. The person saw that she was injured and allowed her to call the police.

When she spoke to the police, she told them she was afraid she would have been killed if she was caught leaving Larson Jr.’s house. She reported that he held her at gunpoint and threatened to shoot her and then himself. She described the alleged abuse and told the authorities that she had been punched, kicked, and struck in the head with something that appeared to be an ice pick.

The woman went to the hospital for medical treatment.

The Tri-County SWAT team and a K9 officer tried to coax Larson Jr. out of the residence for approximately 5-hours.

When they got inside the dwelling, the K9 officer helped the team locate Larson Jr. hidden behind what was described as a false wall.

Larson Jr. was taken into custody, and he is facing charges for first-degree domestic assault, felony kidnapping, felony armed criminal action, and felony possession of a firearm.

It was reported that the alleged victim remains in critical condition. She was diagnosed with a brain bleed and cranial swelling.
