26-year-old Victoria Hampton lives in Hanover Township, Ohio.
On the evening of August 5, Hampton was reportedly at a local Marathon Snack Shack store with a 6-year-old boy. The relationship between Hampton and the child has not been confirmed at this time, but it is believed that she is his father’s friend.
An employee at the market reported that she saw a car pull up, and a young boy stepped out of the vehicle.
The worker thought that she saw the child holding and drinking something that looked like a bottle of beer.
When the youngster went into the store, the woman said he was still sipping the beverage, which she identified as a Smirnoff Ice. She asked him if he knew what he was drinking, and the boy allegedly confirmed that he did. He reportedly said he drank malt beverages often.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office was notified, and deputies went to the store.
When they arrived, they reported that they encountered Hampton and the child. They said the boy was holding a Smirnoff Ice, and Hampton told them that he grabbed one without her knowledge when she wasn’t looking.
The deputies let Hampton leave with the child.
They went to her residence to further talk to her about the incident at the market, and the deputies reported that the boy was on the road with a bottle of Smirnoff Ice.
Hampton was booked into the Butler County Jail. She is facing charges of two counts of child endangerment and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She is being held in lieu of a $2,000 bond.
