Just after 3:00 pm on April 19, a 14-year-old accompanied by a second person reportedly illegally entered a Mastic Beach home through a window.
While in the home, one of them allegedly forced a bedroom door open and discovered a 23-year-old mother inside of the room with her 4-year-old daughter.
The 14-year-old reportedly took the woman’s cell phone before he allegedly began sexually assaulting her. The child was watching as the suspect allegedly choked and raped her mother.
The teenager allegedly tried to force the child to leave the room, but she would not cooperate. He allegedly pulled the woman into another room in the house and reportedly continued to assault her sexually.
The 14-year-old reportedly had a switchblade, and he allegedly pulled it out and used it to stab the woman in the chest after he sliced her face and head.
It was reported that both suspects left the residence after the alleged stabbing.
On April 21, the 14-year-old reportedly told the authorities that he was one of the people that broke into the home.
The authorities reported that they have DNA evidence proving that the teenager was at the scene.
The teen was taken into custody, and he is being held without bail. He is facing charges for suspicion of first-degree rape, first-degree criminal sexual act, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of first-degree burglary, one count of first-degree sexual abuse, one count of second-degree strangulation, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The other person who was believed to be with the 14-year-old has not been found by the authorities yet.
The alleged victim received stitches, staples, and medical treatment for the injuries she sustained during the attack.
