Florida Man Arrested for Punching Niece

A man was accused of battery after he got into an argument with his niece and allegedly punched her during the altercation.

50-year-old Sang Van Nguyen, a native of Saigon, Vietnam, resides in a new gated community in Wildwood, Florida, where they provide homes with a low-maintenance lifestyle.

Nguyen rents out one of the bedrooms in his residence to his niece.

In the evening on February 10, Nguyen’s niece was in her bedroom with the door closed when he arrived home from work.

It was reported that Nguyen walked into the house and headed to his niece’s room. The man reportedly started to pound on the door while screaming at the girl and ordering her to come out of the room.

When the girl complied and opened the door, Nguyen reportedly informed her that he was giving her until the end of February to move out of the home.

According to reports, Nguyen’s niece reminded him that she had already given him the rent money for the entire month, and the pair began to argue.

The situation reportedly escalated, and Nguyen allegedly physically assaulted his niece by punching her.

The authorities were notified, and officers with the Wildwood Police Department went to the home to see if the reported situation required their intervention.

When they arrived, it was reported that Nguyen told the police that the incident occurred when his niece began to taunt him.

Nguyen was placed under arrest and booked into the Sumter County Detention Center. It is expected that he will be charged with one count of battery for the alleged heavy-handed eviction. He was later released on a $500 bond.
