Man Arrested for Slapping Sleeping Girlfriend With Meat

A man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend with a cheeseburger to awaken her has been accused of domestic violence as a result of the event.

On May 4, 30-year-old Kyle Jamison Jones was awake in the wee hours of the morning in the apartment that he shares with his girlfriend of seven years.

Just after 4:00 am as the 28-year-old woman slumbered, Jones allegedly took a cheeseburger and slapped her across the face with it as a method of waking her up.

After being smacked with the burger his girlfriend gained consciousness and the two allegedly began to engage in a verbal dispute. During the fight, Jones’ girlfriend accused him of yanking her hair and caused her to take a tumble down the stairs by kicking her.

When she was able, Jones’ girlfriend called for police assistance and told them that her boyfriend had attacked her.

The police arrived at the residence and spoke with both Jones and his girlfriend in an attempt to collect information about the series of events which led to her to call the authorities.

While interviewing the woman it was reported that it was not apparent that she had been injured based on her physical appearance, but she allegedly had particles of food on her. She was offered medical assistance but said that she didn’t feel it was necessary. His girlfriend explained that she had only called for help so that the police would talk to Jones about his alleged behavior, and she didn’t want him to go to jail.

When Jones was interviewed, he reportedly did not offer much in the way of a statement and chose to stay quiet throughout the questioning. As recorded in the arrest report, the officer spotted many cuts on Jones’ face and upper body.

Jones’ girlfriend said that she was the one who had caused the wounds on her boyfriend. He remained silent as the woman stated that she injured Jones while defending herself during their fight.

The arresting officer believed there was enough probable cause to take Jones into custody as the alleged aggressor of the incident. He was transported to the county jail and he is facing charges for a misdemeanor count of domestic violence battery.

Jones bonded out, and he has been prohibited from having any contact with his girlfriend.
