A female passenger who was reportedly carrying drugs and a firearm allegedly attacked the driver of the vehicle when she got upset that they were going over the speed limit.
On September 25, a 32-year-old woman was in a car with three other people. She was sitting in the back seat, but she reportedly noticed that the driver was speeding. The woman allegedly became angry, purportedly because she had ecstasy and a gun with her. During a verbal dispute, the driver took the suggestion of one of the other passengers and decided to take the woman home to rectify the situation. When they arrived, things intensified.
According to reports, the woman dragged the driver out of the vehicle and began striking and kicking her until she fell to the ground. The woman reportedly pulled out the gun and threatened the alleged victim while she continued physically assaulting her. The other passengers got out of the vehicle and tried to intervene, but the woman allegedly did not calm down and reportedly began hitting them.
A bystander noticed the scuffle and he approached and stopped the women from brawling. The woman who was said to have started the fight allegedly threw a rock at the driver’s windshield before walking away. The authorities were notified about the incident.
On October 2, the woman, who has several prior criminal convictions, was taken into custody and booked into the Polk County jail. She is facing several preliminary charges including two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, battery – touch or strike, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of criminal use of fraudulent identification, felony theft – third or subsequent offense, and criminal mischief. According to facility records, she is currently still incarcerated.
