A Florida woman who was reportedly driving under the influence with drugs in her car allegedly nearly slammed into a police vehicle when she reportedly tried to speed away from pursuing officers.

On the morning of January 19, a 30-year-old Cape Coral woman was sitting in the car in a local Dollar Tree parking lot. At the same time, Cape Coral police officers showed up after they were told someone was stealing a vehicle from the location. When they spotted the woman, they headed towards her car, and she allegedly sped out of the lot after nearly striking a police vehicle.

According to reports, as the police pursued her, the woman drove erratically until she struck the center divider, and it rendered her car undriveable. Before officers reached her, she allegedly started running in the opposite direction. An officer with a K9 chased after her, and when she reportedly continued fleeing, the dog was released. The woman halted, and the officer called off the K9. They handcuffed her, and the officers reported that they found fentanyl and paraphernalia around the path on which the woman was running, and they asserted that it belonged to her.

A Florida man was arrested after the police reportedly found him behind the wheel with a BAC over six times the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle.

On January 7, a man was in Haines City sitting in a vehicle when someone spotted him and thought he looked like he might need help. They notified the authorities, and an officer from the Haines City Police Department who was on patrol nearby went to the scene to investigate the report. When they arrived and approached the car, the officer reported that it was running, and the man was unresponsive when he tried to wake him up.

According to reports, the man had his foot on the brake, and the car was reportedly in gear. After quickly blocking the car with his police vehicle, the officer entered the man’s vehicle and turned off the ignition. When he looked around the car, the officer allegedly found 12 empty wine bottles.

A Florida man suspected of driving while intoxicated is facing charges after he allegedly told the police he drank several beers before getting behind the wheel.

Late in the evening on January 1, a 60-year-old man from Eustice was driving his Chevrolet Traverse locally when he was pulled over for allegedly failing to leave enough space between his truck and the vehicle in front of him. It was believed that he might be intoxicated, and an officer from the Florida Highway Patrol headed to the scene to assist.

When he arrived and interacted with the driver, who was reportedly slurring his words, he reported that he also smelled alcohol, which gave him the impression that the man had been drinking. He asked the man for his driver’s license, and things reportedly took an unusual turn. According to reports, instead of giving him the card, the man reached out and requested that the officer hold his hand. The driver also said he was not sure why he was pulled over. The officer asked whether the man had anything to drink before driving, and he allegedly said he had a few beers six to seven hours prior to getting in the vehicle.

An Indiana man accused of driving with over triple the legal blood-alcohol level was arrested after allegedly failing to stop when he crashed into several parked vehicles.

On the afternoon of December 29, a 22-year-old man from South Bend was driving locally when he reportedly crashed into the front of a woman’s parked car. She heard a collision, and when she walked outside to check it out, she said she noticed what appeared to be white paint on the damaged body. The offending driver was no longer present, and the authorities were notified.

Officers from the South Bend Police Department spoke to the alleged victim and then headed to a second reported crash scene a couple of blocks away. The police were told someone driving a white Dodge was at fault for the collisions, and the suspect was still at the scene. When they approached the vehicle, the man was sitting in the driver’s seat. According to reports, he looked and acted like he was intoxicated, and the police said they smelled alcohol when they were talking to him. When they administered a breath test, the results indicated that the man, who reportedly said he was at a party earlier in the day, had a .245 BAC.

The principal of a Florida elementary school who reportedly followed a driver she did not know for an extended time was accused of driving under the influence.

On the evening of December 20, a man was driving on the Interstate when he noticed another car was following closely behind him. He reported that when he tried to get off at his exit, the driver flashed their headlights at him multiple times and caused him to miss the turnoff. The man decided to head to the Boynton Beach police department. The other vehicle’s driver reportedly continued to tail him and flash their lights, even after they entered the police department’s parking lot. An officer came out of the station and intervened, and when they spoke to him, both drivers gave different accounts of the incident.

The man told the officer about being followed, but the driver of the other car, identified as a 47-year-old woman who is the Wynnebrook Elementary School principal, disputed his story. It was reported that she told the officer it was she who was planning to alert the authorities about the man’s unsafe driving. She reportedly said he brake checked her several times while she was behind him. While interacting with her, the officer believed she seemed intoxicated.

A central California man who is currently on parole is facing multiple charges after allegedly smashing a stolen car into several vehicles in a grocery store parking lot before trying to flee from the authorities.

Early in the afternoon on December 8, a man was allegedly driving recklessly in a Trader Joe’s parking lot in Santa Barbara. It was reported that he backed into one car and struck several other vehicles in the lot, in addition to nearly hitting pedestrians. After the alleged event, the man reportedly sped away. The authorities were notified, and officers from the Santa Barbara Police Department headed to Trader Joe’s to investigate.

At the same time, someone who saw the vehicle on the road called 911 to give them the car’s license plate number after witnessing the driver allegedly fail to stop at a red light and nearly crash into people riding bicycles. Officers began searching for his car when they received the suspect’s location.

A Southern California man was arrested after he was accused of driving under the influence after allegedly causing a crash involving multiple vehicles and reportedly trying to bite responding officers.

Late in the afternoon on March 1, a 49-year-old man was driving a blue Prius in Los Angeles when he allegedly ran a red light and caused an accident involving three vehicles. Someone who saw the crash notified the authorities, and officers from the Los Angeles Police Department went to the location. When they arrived, the driver of the Prius was standing on the sidewalk with blood coming from his head and dripping down his face.

The man was informed that the police believed he had been driving under the influence, and they decided to double handcuff him after verbally noting that he was large. When they tried to put him in the police car, he reportedly fell on the ground and told the officers he was in pain. They continued trying to get him into the vehicle, but he allegedly tried to fight them off. Shortly after, a Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance brought him to the hospital.

A Florida man is facing multiple charges for allegedly fleeing after causing a car crash and then smashing into a police vehicle in an alleged attempt to get away.

Early in the morning on December 3, a man was driving in Tallahassee. When he was close to an intersection he allegedly crashed into another automobile. Two people in the damaged car were injured, and the man reportedly took off immediately after the accident. When the authorities learned about the situation, officers from the Tallahassee Police Department went to the scene. They set out to find the suspect and they saw him driving close to the accident site. When they attempted to pull him over, the man reportedly crashed into a curb before trying to drive away.

Police cars were parked around the suspect’s car to prevent him from leaving, but he reportedly stepped on the gas and hit an officer’s vehicle. When they interacted with him, the police reported that they believed he was driving under the influence.

A man with nine priors was arrested last weekend on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol a tenth time after reportedly smashing into the back of a police vehicle at a red light.

Late in the afternoon on November 24, a man from Middletown, Delaware, was driving a Dodge Ram on Route 13 when he approached a red light. An officer with the New Castle County Division of Police had already come to a full stop, and the man reportedly slammed into their patrol vehicle. According to reports, instead of stopping to discuss the incident, the driver put the truck in reverse, turned around, and drove in the opposite direction in an alleged attempt to escape.

The officer’s vehicle was still operable, and they began pursuing the suspect. They reported that the man failed to stop at several red lights while they chased him. When the driver reached Boyd’s Center, he pulled into a Wawa convenience store parking lot. The officer was able to stop him, and they believed he was intoxicated.

A man in central Florida was arrested for DUI when he was pulled over for speeding and the police found several beers in his truck.

Early in the morning on September 9, a man from Umatilla was driving a truck near his residence when he caught the attention of a deputy from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. According to reports, the posted speed limit was 45 MPH, but the deputy asserted that he was going 80 MPH. The deputy also reported that the vehicle was being operated unsafely and failed to stop at multiple stop signs. When the driver got into the same lane as the patrol car, he allegedly nearly crashed into it.

The deputy performed a traffic stop, and the driver pulled over without incident. When he began talking to the man, the deputy reported that he detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from his breath and that his eyes were reddened. After he got out of the truck, the man allegedly had trouble steadying himself. The driver was asked to take a roadside sobriety test, but he declined. He also refused to consent to a breath test.
