The father of a 16-year-old girl is facing numerous charges after he allegedly drove her to school while intoxicated and then reportedly crashed into vehicles and left the scene.

On the morning of October 15, a man from Waverly, New York, gave his 16-year-old daughter a ride to school. After they arrived and she got out of the vehicle, the girl’s father pulled away and was involved in an accident with two parked cars. According to reports, he drove off after causing the crash, but someone near the scene saw what happened and wrote down his license plate number.

The authorities were notified about the alleged hit-and-run and were told that the cars involved were heavily damaged. Officers from the Waverly Police Department went to the scene to investigate, and the bystander shared the license plate number with them. They used the information collected, and it led them to a residence where the vehicle with the matching plate was parked. It was reported that when the driver talked to them, the officers believed he was intoxicated. They also learned that his teenage daughter had been a passenger in the car prior to the crash and asserted that he put her in danger by having her in the vehicle.

Former MLB pitcher Matt Bush was arrested last week after allegedly driving under the influence and causing several cars to crash while reportedly trying to escape from the police.

38-year-old Matt Bush was a Major League Baseball player who was a pitcher for the Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers. He has had several run-ins with the law since 2004, including DUI with great bodily injury in 2012 which resulted in a 51-month prison sentence. It was reported that he has struggled with alcoholism for many years.

On the evening of October 4, Bush was driving a Lincoln Aviator on the parkway in Arlington. Just before 8:30 PM, officers from the Arlington Police Department spotted the vehicle and believed it was being driven erratically. When they tried to perform a traffic stop, Bush reportedly increased his speed to try to get away. Within minutes, the authorities were notified about an accident that happened nearby. The police went to the scene, and they identified Bush as the driver who caused the crash, which involved three other vehicles. They reported that Bush failed to stop at a red light, causing him to smash into three cars that were idle at the traffic signal. Before the authorities arrived, it was reported that Bush tried to run away from the area, but others at the scene forced him to stay.

A 40-year-old man from Joliet found himself facing several charges after reportedly resisting arrest and trying to kick police officers during a routine traffic stop last week.

According to reports, officers from the Joliet Police Department spotted the driver of a van that reportedly failed to use his turn signal. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver pulled over without incident. After he stopped the van, instead of staying inside the vehicle, the man allegedly got out and started walking away. The officers verbally tried to get him to stop, but he reportedly completely ignored them.

Before long, the man sat down on the sidewalk and the police were able to approach him. The officers suspected that the man was under the influence of an intoxicant, and they wanted to make sure he settled down. When they tried to grab him the man pulled away and stood up.

A Utah teenager is being held without bail after allegedly driving recklessly while under the influence and forcing the police to chase him while he drove over 120 MPH.

On September 13, an 18-year-old with a learner’s permit was driving a Dodge Charger with three passengers in the vehicle. He pulled into a Maverick gas station and parked in front of a pump. The car reportedly had no license plate, and it caught the attention of an officer from the Santaquin Police Department. As soon as the Charger left the parking lot, the officer got behind it and tried to initiate a traffic stop.

According to reports, instead of pulling over, the driver entered the onramp to I-15. The officer continued to follow, and he noted that the vehicle was being driven over 120 MPH. The driver entered an offramp, and the car slid down an embankment. The people in the automobile reportedly began running, but the police quickly caught them.

A school bus driver from Minnesota who had 17 students on his bus is facing charges after allegedly working his morning shift while under the influence of alcohol.

Just after midnight on August 28, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department received a call regarding a bus driver who worked for the St. Louis County School District. The caller reported that the man was supposed to drive a morning route transporting students to the South Ridge School in Culver, but said he consumed so much alcohol that he would not have enough time to sober up before operating the school bus. Minnesota’s legal blood alcohol concentration limit for most drivers is 0.08%, but they have a statute wherein those who drive a school bus are barred from having any alcohol in their system.

The authorities collected his information and got in touch with the 44-year-old man. When the police asked him about the situation, he let them know he was not going to work that day. The authorities followed up by calling the school district to confirm the information, and they reported that he was currently on the road in a school bus.

A Florida mayor recently found herself in a troubling situation that led to her arrest when she allegedly crashed into a mailbox in front of the residence of a couple she reportedly followed home while driving under the influence.

Just before 10:00 PM on August 28, a married couple noticed they were being followed home by a woman driving a silver car. Things took a turn for the worse when the woman, who was allegedly intoxicated, crashed into their mailbox and remained parked on their lawn. They decided to immediately notify the authorities but they were unsure of the driver’s identity when they first placed the call.

When they spoke to her, the woman reportedly identified herself as the mayor of the nearby city of Naples. The 911 dispatcher was surprised to hear it when the couple relayed this information. When the police arrived at the scene, the mayor was leaning on her car, and she had a calm demeanor. When they asked if she had been drinking alcohol, she reportedly said she had one glass of wine. The police believed she was displaying signs of being intoxicated. The police asked the woman what happened, and she reportedly told them the couple cut her off while they were driving, so she trailed behind them until they reached their destination.

A woman in Illinois was arrested after a traffic stop revealed that she was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol with two minors in the vehicle.

Just after midnight on June 12, a woman from Rockford was driving in Chicago Heights with two young passengers, ages 12 and 15. An officer was in the area and reported that they saw the Chevrolet being driven well above the posted speed limit without taillights. They also noted that the driver was not using turn signals when changing lanes. The officer began to pursue the vehicle, and when the woman pulled into a nearby Shell Gas Station they initiated a traffic stop.

According to reports, when they were talking about why she was pulled over, the officer noted that they could smell alcohol, and they believed the origin was the woman’s breath. They also asserted that she was displaying several indicators of intoxication. When she was asked if she had anything to drink, the woman allegedly said she drank half of a pint-sized bottle of Hennessey.

During a married couple’s visit to Florida for a job opportunity, the pair found themselves behind bars after a disagreement that reportedly resulted in the woman driving drunk and crashing into a store.

On the morning of August 26, the man and his wife, from Elizabeth City, North Carolina, were in Big Pine Key regarding a potential job. Just after 7:30 AM, they stopped at Coconuts Bar & Liquor Store where the woman bought a bottle of Crown Royal whiskey. According to reports, she went back to the truck, and within approximately five minutes she polished off half of the bottle. Her husband was displeased with the way she quickly chugged the liquor, and they started arguing. After they moved the dispute out of the vehicle things reportedly got physical, and the man allegedly hit her.

The woman climbed into the driver’s seat and stepped on the gas pedal, and the vehicle smashed into the store and damaged the building. The authorities were notified, and the woman was still in the truck when they arrived. It was reported that a deputy noticed the vehicle was stuck in place, but it still appeared to be in drive.

A corrections officer who worked at a detention facility in Tennessee was arrested when the way he was driving caught the attention of a trooper who believed he was intoxicated. 

On August 16, a man who was a lieutenant at the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility was driving a Chevrolet Sonic down a highway in Vonore when he found himself accused of being on the wrong side of the law. A trooper from the Tennessee Highway Patrol noticed his vehicle and believed he was driving faster than the posted speed limit. They also felt he was operating the car unsafely by failing to stay in his designated lane.

The trooper performed a traffic stop, and the man pulled over without incident. When they began to interact, the trooper thought it smelled like alcohol in the vehicle. He also reported that the driver displayed several indicators of intoxication. When he was asked about the situation, the man chose to exercise his right to remain silent. Additionally, he chose not to participate in roadside sobriety testing.

A Montana man without permanent housing was arrested for his fifth DUI after he was reportedly caught drinking beer while sitting under a tree on private property.

On August 3rd, a 43-year-old man went to a bar in the unincorporated community of Frenchtown. After he had a few drinks, he reportedly left in a Chevy Malibu and drove to a nearby home with a tree in the yard. He parked in the driveway and got out of the vehicle so he could sit under the tree and enjoy the shade it provided.

When the man was spotted, the authorities were notified, and a deputy with the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office went to the address. It was noted that the car door was open, and the man was still hanging out under the tree. The deputy asked him what was going on, and the man reportedly said he left a nearby bar and then sat under the tree to drink beer in the shade.
