A Rhode Island man who turned himself in last week for an active arrest warrant is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving under the influence in 2023 and causing a crash that severely injured a passenger.

In May 2023, a woman reportedly blacked out after having drinks with a male friend. She believed the man put her in his car and started to drive her home, but before they arrived, they were in an accident. According to investigators, she was not wearing a seatbelt when they crashed, and she was thrown from the car. While the driver was only mildly hurt, the woman was flown to a nearby hospital for serious injuries that required her to undergo surgery.

The man reportedly told the authorities that he lost control of the vehicle, and when he tried to stop, he was unable to. He also said he recently had mechanical issues with the car but had not yet taken it to an auto shop.

Three suspects were arrested in Utah last weekend after the authorities accused them of human trafficking several people, including a 14-year-old girl from Iowa who had been reported missing.

On July 20, during their search for the teen, who had her cell phone on her at the time, the authorities decided to ping the device to see if they could pinpoint her location. They tracked the signal and it led to an area around Coalville in Summit County. At the same time, the police received a report about two young women and a child with suitcases who were seen standing at a rest stop along Interstate 80.

A trooper from the Utah Highway Patrol went to the location, and when they arrived, the girls were still standing there. The 14-year-old was present, and it was learned that the other two had also been reported missing.

An off-duty detective was arrested when the police asserted that he was driving under the influence last weekend after he crashed into a parked car.

According to reports, early in the morning on July 14, a vehicle was being driven erratically through a neighborhood in Clifton, Kentucky. After crossing over the center line, the car smashed into an automobile that was parked on the opposite side of the street. No one was inside the parked car at the time, but other people who witnessed the incident called the authorities to let them know what happened.

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department headed to the location to investigate. The driver was no longer in the vehicle, but he was quickly found nearby. It was reported that when he was asked about the crash, he initially said he believed two individuals got out of the vehicle and quickly left the area.

A Florida man accused of getting behind the wheel while intoxicated is facing several charges after allegedly driving on the wrong side of the street when he had two youngsters as passengers in the back seat of his car.

According to reports, on July 4, a man with two young children was driving an SUV past the Arcadia police headquarters. An officer spotted the vehicle and reportedly noticed it was being driven down the wrong side of the road. The officer pursued the SUV and performed a traffic stop.

The driver pulled over without incident, and when the officer approached to talk to them, they noticed two youngsters sitting in the vehicle’s back seat. The driver was asked if he was aware that he was driving in the opposite lane, and the officer reported that the man would not respond. The smell of alcohol was allegedly coming from the inside of the car. It was also reported that when the officer looked around the vehicle, he believed there was something that looked like a joint in the center console, in addition to a vape pen believed to contain THC oil.

Oklahoma State Cowboys star running back Ollie Gordon II was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol last weekend when the police found two open containers in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

20-year-old Ollie Gordon II began his trek to fame in 2020 when he was dubbed Male High School Athlete of the Year by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In 2022, he decided to take his career to Oklahoma State, where he remains as the team’s running back.

Early in the morning on June 30, Gordon was driving his Cadillac on the Interstate. A trooper from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol noticed the vehicle as it allegedly sped by at 82 MPH when the posted speed limit was 65. The trooper noted that the car swerved over the lines of the designated lane twice, and they decided to pull over the driver.

The authorities reported that a 14-year-old boy may face charges after allegedly driving under the influence and leading them on a chase which ended when he hid inside of an outdoor freezer.

On June 28, an officer from the Kent Police Department was patrolling when they reportedly saw a vehicle that was driven through the intersection without stopping at the posted road sign. It was also asserted that the car was being operated erratically, and the officer decided to perform a traffic stop. The driver reportedly ignored it, and when he came to a red light he allegedly failed to stop. The officer trailed behind the vehicle and watched the driver hit a curb and allegedly run another red light. According to reports, the driver kept going despite one of the tires falling off the car, but he slammed into a second curb and could not continue.

The driver immediately got out and ran away from the police, and officers pursued him on foot. The King County Sheriff’s Office also assisted by air with a helicopter, and they were able to keep an eye on the suspect as he headed through the yards of nearby properties. He spotted a freezer that opened from the top, and the authorities reported that he climbed inside.

A woman in Virginia is facing several charges after she was arrested for driving under the influence and allegedly assaulted two police officers who were trying to bring her into the jail.

Early in the morning on July 18, a woman from Charlotte who allegedly had a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit was driving in Albemarle County. Two officers from the Albemarle County Police Department spotted her vehicle, and a traffic stop was performed.

When they interacted with the driver, identified as a 38-year-old local, the officers believed she displayed indicators of being under the influence. She was asked to take a breath test, but she would not give her consent.

A Florida man was arrested when he reportedly caused a scene at a liquor store, hit a maintenance worker, and headbutted a police officer after an alleged drunken hit-and-run.

On June 16, a Cape Coral man went to a local liquor store to purchase a small bottle of Fireball. While he was there, the man was polite and even engaged in conversation with another patron. He paid the cashier and left the store but came back about a half hour later.

According to an employee, when the man walked in the second time, he seemed intoxicated. He tried to buy more alcohol, but the clerk would not sell it to him. The man reportedly became verbally combative, and allegedly spit on the worker before exiting the store.

An 80-year-old Florida man is facing charges after it was believed he was driving under the influence when he crashed into the side of a supermarket.

On the afternoon of June 5, a man was driving through the parking lot at the Publix Supermarket in Jacksonville when two people walked in front of his vehicle. He hit the brakes to avoid potentially hitting them, but it caused his car to slam into the side of the building.

People heard the impact of the crash from inside the store, and they found the source of the sound when they saw the man’s vehicle. The authorities were alerted, and deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office went to the location. When they talked to the higher-ups at Publix, they asked if the car could be left where it was, so they would not risk causing more damage to the building by removing it.

The driver of a full school bus of individuals going on a high school field trip was accused of driving under the influence when he allegedly ran three red lights and ignored the pleas of the riders by refusing to stop the vessel.

On the evening of March 25, the Sebring High School set out on a trip to Daytona Beach for “Project Graduation.” The attendees were driven in two Holiday Coach Lines shuttle buses. One of the parents was going on the trip and was traveling along with the buses but riding in their own vehicle.

It was reported that one of the buses was driven by a 55-year-old man, and he had approximately 30 graduating seniors and four chaperones on board. Six of the passengers were underage. They began the journey at approximately 6:30 PM, and before long, the riders started wondering if there was something wrong with the driver.
