Couple Accused of Opening Fire on Home

A New York couple was accused of traveling to Florida and becoming involved in a shooting outside a residence where a woman they allegedly knew lived.

According to the authorities, several bullets struck the home during the confrontation and entered the residence while the alleged victim’s two daughters were inside. No injuries to the children were reported.

Investigators said the violence began after the husband and the alleged victim’s fiancé became involved in a physical confrontation outside the home. Surveillance footage reportedly captured parts of the incident, but investigators said it did not clearly establish who fired the first shot. Both men claimed the other person began shooting.

Authorities alleged the husband fired multiple rounds that struck different areas of the residence during the exchange. Investigators also claimed he attempted to place the fiancé in a chokehold shortly before the gunfire began.

The investigation later determined that the husband and his wife had allegedly gone to the residence together while disguised. Investigators claimed they tried to persuade the alleged victim and her fiancé to come outside by saying a vehicle had been broken into.

Court records stated the alleged victim had previously been involved in a brief relationship with the husband after the two reportedly met through TikTok. According to investigators, she ended the relationship after learning from his wife that he had been dishonest about the status of his marriage and was not actually planning to divorce.

The wife was reportedly in Florida with her husband to celebrate their wedding anniversary, according to statements her father gave to investigators.

After reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence, the authorities charged both the husband and wife with four counts of attempted second-degree murder. They also each faced charges of battery by strangulation and criminal mischief in connection with the investigation.
