Las Vegas Officer Violently Assaulted Girlfriend

A Las Vegas correctional officer has been accused of strangling, threatening to kill, and kicking his girlfriend down a flight of stairs during an alleged violent attack.

35-year-old Christopher Wilson has worked with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for approximately 6 years.

On March 11, Wilson and his girlfriend were reportedly at his home, and they got into an argument.

Three days after the alleged incident, the woman notified the authorities and informed them about the situation. She reported that she was hesitant to place a report since the assailant works in law enforcement.

When the alleged victim discussed the incident with the police, she reportedly said that after Wilson became enraged over text messages she exchanged with another man, he lashed out violently. The man allegedly held her on the bed by the throat in a purported effort to restrict her from leaving.

The woman said Wilson eventually let go, and she struck him with her cell phone before she tried to exit. Wilson allegedly kicked the alleged victim, causing her to fall down a flight of stairs. According to reports, he told her he should have struck her with his pistol and shot her.

On March 15, Wilson, who was sporting injuries such as a black eye, sat down with detectives who wanted to talk about the allegations against him. The man chose to remain silent.

Wilson was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He may face charges for two felony counts of domestic violence by strangulation, and one count of misdemeanor domestic battery first offense.

Wilson was suspended with pay from his duties with the LVMPD as the investigation continues.
