Man Battered Victim at Arraignment for Battery Charge

A suspect attending his arraignment hearing for allegedly battering a woman reportedly hit her with a letter from a sign in the courthouse.
26-year-old Jordan Thomas is currently going through a legal situation involving a woman accusing him of battery.
On October 19, Thomas had an arraignment scheduled at the Indian River Courthouse regarding the charges.
When Thomas was released on bond after being arrested for the battery allegations, he was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim, who is also reported as a witness in the case.
It was reported that when the courtroom took a recess, Thomas went into the hallway.
According to the arrest affidavit, the man allegedly approached a sign board with removable letters and took the letter “G” off of it. Thomas reportedly threw the letter in the direction of the victim, and it struck her.
It was asserted that Thomas had purposely aimed the letter at the alleged victim with the intention of hitting her with the piece from the sign.
The courthouse has surveillance video cameras, and the authorities reviewed the footage.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office reported that they believe the video supports their assertion that Thomas purposely battered the woman.
Thomas, who was additionally accused of being in violation of the stipulations of his pretrial release, was taken into custody. He is facing another battery charge, and he was incarcerated at the Indian River County Jail without bond.
