A man from Wyoming has been charged after allegations that he threw a Hot Pocket at his girlfriend causing scorching on her ear and neck during a domestic dispute.
A couple who live together reportedly got into a fight on Monday which led to the woman suffering injuries from burns.
Around 2:00 am, an officer dispatched to investigate after a friend of the alleged victim called the police to report the incident and stated that the woman had been very badly burned.
According to the affidavit, an ambulance arrived before the police and had already put the woman inside to transport her for medical treatment. The report reflects that the 28-year-old alleged victim had the remnants of what appeared to be a Hot Pocket on her clothing and that the left side of her face by her ear and neck had visible burns.
When an officer went to the couple’s apartment to speak with the suspect, 29-year-old Levi Lucero, the man reportedly said that his girlfriend punched him in the face while he was eating and he threw the remaining food in her direction. He also was reported as having said that he did not intend to burn her. It was noted that Lucero had redness near his nose, but that he did not appear to have been bleeding.
The officer talked to the alleged victim and she gave a different report of what happened during the dispute.
The woman stated that her boyfriend became angry with her and when she asked him to stop speaking to her in such a harsh manner he threw the burning hot food that he was eating at her. Afterward, she alleged that Lucero held her down on the couch while he yelled at her so she punched him in the nose before leaving their residence and ended up going to her friend’s house.
Lucero was placed under arrest and taken to the Natrona County Detention Center. He is facing charges for domestic battery due to the allegations.
