The caregiver for an elderly deaf man in Tennessee was accused of becoming frustrated with her patient and allegedly throwing a pot of boiling water at him leaving him with second and third-degree burns.

According to reports, late in the evening on January 21, a 45-year-old woman who has worked as a caregiver for 15 years was taking care of her patient in a group home in Memphis. The elderly man is hearing impaired, in addition to having diagnoses of schizophrenia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The patient was boiling water in a pot so he could prepare noodles, and the caregiver, who was allegedly angry, reportedly told him to leave the kitchen and go to the living room.

The man did as she asked, but the woman was reportedly still upset. She allegedly grabbed the pot, in which the water was now boiling, and threw it at her patient. The police report says the man had severe burns on “his face, shoulder, and right side of his back.”

A couple in Texas was arrested after reportedly treating their 1-year-old daughter’s serious burns with over-the-counter cream and methamphetamine for the pain.

According to reports, a man and woman were living in squalor in an RV with their 2-month-old twins, a 1-year-old, a 2-year-old, a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old.

Last week, their 1-year-old daughter was badly burned with boiling water, causing serious injuries to her skin. It is believed that the water came from a pot boiling on the stove.

A Florida woman is facing charges after she allegedly attempted to throw acid on her sister, but it hit her sister’s daughter instead.

On the evening of July 13, a 38-year-old woman and her sister were having a dispute in a Miami home.

The Miami-Dade Police Department went to the residence on a domestic violence call, and the women were reportedly still going at it when they arrived.

A North Carolina woman was arrested and charged after she allegedly abused her 5-year-old stepson and left the child with third-degree burns, in addition to reportedly trying to castrate him.

On July 29, a 33-year-old stepmother brought her adopted 5-year-old stepson to the emergency room at the Wilson Medical Center because he had sustained severe burns.

The burns were diagnosed as third-degree, and it was suspected that they were caused by abuse. The child also had bruises and injuries on his head, face, arms, legs, back, and genitals.

A man previously convicted for murder has been accused of attacking his cousin and her 18-month-old by splashing them with hot oil while they were asleep. 

41-year-old Michael Lee Maloney was convicted to a 10-year prison term when he plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter for beating a man to death with a baseball bat in 2000. According to his extended family, the Ohio man is currently without permanent housing. 

Maloney’s 20-year-old second cousin and her 18-month-old baby reside in Hamilton. According to reports, he had been staying in her home for a brief time, but she eventually asked him to leave.

A man is facing many charges after he was accused of imprisoning his girlfriend and torturing her for a month until she was able to free herself. 

29-year-old Saul Ortega resides in Modesto, California. He recently reportedly started a relationship with a 25-year-old woman that also lives in Modesto. 

Last Saturday, the woman notified the authorities and said that she had been kidnapped by Ortega and held for about a month. She reported that she was able to escape.

A grandmother in Indiana has been accused of burning her young granddaughter after the child had a bathroom accident, soiling herself and the sofa with urine.

49-year-old Lebanon, Indiana resident Greta Feil was recently reportedly taking care of her two grandchildren while they were visiting her from their home state of Alabama.

Over the few weeks that the children were staying with Feil the Department of Child Services was called with reports a total of five times due to purported sounds of domestic unrest. The callers said they could hear screaming and profanities coming from inside the residence rather often.

An 18-year-old woman who was dissatisfied with her service at Burger King has been accused of causing serious injury by throwing a scalding hot cup of coffee at an employee while they were arguing.

On June 29, Anastasia Lantier and her mother visited a Burger King in Seminole, Florida.

They decided to order from the drive-thru instead of going inside, and Lantier reportedly had an “issue” and became agitated with an employee.

A Texas woman is facing charges for allegations that she punished her stepdaughter by pouring rubbing alcohol over the child’s face, of which she then ignited.

On May 13, the Grand Prairie neighbor of Dalia Jimenez notified the police with concern after she saw what appeared to be burns on the face of Jimenez’s young stepdaughter.

The authorities went to the residence and reported that the child was gleeful and outside playing with friends, but took note of the visible burns on her face.
