A Florida man allegedly became so aggressive with the guests attending his wedding that it resulted in him spending the night behind bars.
22-year-old Jeffery Johnson lives in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
On July 10, Johnson and his fiancée exchanged vows and became husband and wife.
After the nuptials, the couple held a reception to celebrate the event with their family and friends.
During the festivities, Johnson reportedly had several alcoholic beverages.
Johnson’s mood reportedly turned sour, and the man allegedly became confrontational and combative with the people enjoying the function.
The guests reportedly grabbed the man, and a few of them held Johnson down while the authorities were notified.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office sent deputies in response to the call, and when they arrived, they reported that Johnson was still immobilized by the guests.
When the deputies tried to interact with Johnson, the man allegedly strongly resisted and became physically aggressive.
The deputies reported that the man started to fight against them by kicking, hitting, and spitting on the law enforcement officers as they attempted to subdue him.
None of the officers were hurt from his alleged actions, and they eventually got control over the reportedly aggressive groom.
Johnson was taken into custody and booked into the Lee County Jail. He is expected to face charges for suspicion of battery, in addition to two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer. He was released the following evening on $15,000 bail.
Johnson has a court date at the beginning of August regarding the allegations.
There were no reports issued about how his new bride felt about spending the night without her new groom.
