A Florida man was incarcerated after guns and a Kevlar vest, of which he allegedly told the officers belonged to the movie character John Wick, were reportedly located inside a vehicle parked at his residence.
27-year-old Getro Gelin lives in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and reportedly drives a Porsche SUV.
Early last Sunday, Gelin and an unnamed woman were reportedly engaged in a situation that led to a call being placed to 911 for police assistance regarding a claim of domestic violence that had taken place.
When officers from the Port St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office dispatched to the address given in the call they talked with a woman who accused Gelin of knocking her to the ground before threatening her with a gun.
The Porche SUV that was believed to belong to Gelin was searched after the alleged victim told the officers that she thought he placed the weapon in the vehicle to conceal it.
According to the affidavit, after Gelin gave his consent and when rifling through the rear compartment the authorities discovered a Glock 21 pistol, a Kevlar vest, and a rifle.
The police asked Gelin about the weapons they allegedly found in the SUV and the man reportedly responded by telling them that he did not own the car anymore as he had sold it to John Wick, who he claimed was his cousin.
Since the officers doubted Gelin was related to the action movie character portrayed by Keanu Reeves in the series of films bearing the same name, they asked him to give them the real name of his cousin. The affidavit stated that while he eventually reportedly admitted he lied, Gelin chose to protect the true identity of his cousin and would not issue a name to them.
Gelin was placed under arrest and booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on a $3500 bond. He is facing charges for suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and domestic battery.
