A Colorado man suspected of stealing several thousands of dollars worth of tools from a business allegedly tried to escape the authorities by calling an Uber to pick him up.
On December 28, the owner of Blue Sky Plumbing in Wheat Ridge arrived at his business and found a hole in the fence that surrounds the property. The man checked the surveillance video and saw footage of someone stealing goods from the store. He notified the authorities, and officers from the Wheat Ridge Police Department went to the location.
An Uber vehicle was parked nearby with the driver inside, so the police decided to stop and speak to him. He told the officers he was waiting for a passenger and said the potential rider’s name was Jose. He saw someone approaching and informed them that he believed it was him.
