A recent sulfuric acid attack in Jersey City, New Jersey, left six people injured after the authorities said the incident was allegedly connected to an earlier dispute involving a larger group.

According to investigators, three women and three teenage girls were standing together shortly after 7 p.m. on June 15 when the suspects, who were reportedly riding on a moped, allegedly approached and threw what the authorities said was believed to be sulfuric acid before leaving the area. Investigators said the attack was considered targeted, although they did not release details about the earlier dispute.

All six alleged victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The authorities said the injuries included burns and peeling skin. One 21-year-old alleged victim later required treatment at a burn unit for second-degree burns to her face and scalp. Officials said the injuries were not considered life-threatening, and all six alleged victims were reported to be in stable condition.

A massage parlor owner is facing charges after the authorities allege that she has been using the business, which stands across the street from a county courthouse, as a place to provide sexual favors in exchange for money.

The Gold Sakura Spa in Jersey City is owned by 50-year-old Elizabeth K. Golden. The shop is located right across the street from the Hudson County Courthouse complex, and in addition to her place of employment it was also reported that Golden uses the building as her residence.

On October 2, an officer with the county prosecutor’s office went to the Gold Sakura and allegedly got Golden to agree to an engagement that was sexual in nature in exchange for cash.
