A New Jersey woman is facing criminal charges after being accused of spiking someone’s drink during a scheduled meeting at a restaurant.

On October 15, specialized detectives took a fifty-two-year-old woman into custody outside a home in Hackensack. One day before the arrest, the county authorities officially filed a criminal charge against her. The suspect is facing one count of third-degree aggravated assault. She was taken to the Bergen County Jail, where she was held without bond.

The assault charge involves an incident that took place at an eatery located in Fort Lee. According to reports, on September 8, the suspect met with an acquaintance at the dining establishment. The meeting was arranged because the alleged victim discovered unauthorized banking activity inside her personal financial accounts. Investigators said the suspect had shared access to the accounts.

A recent sulfuric acid attack in Jersey City, New Jersey, left six people injured after the authorities said the incident was allegedly connected to an earlier dispute involving a larger group.

According to investigators, three women and three teenage girls were standing together shortly after 7 p.m. on June 15 when the suspects, who were reportedly riding on a moped, allegedly approached and threw what the authorities said was believed to be sulfuric acid before leaving the area. Investigators said the attack was considered targeted, although they did not release details about the earlier dispute.

All six alleged victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The authorities said the injuries included burns and peeling skin. One 21-year-old alleged victim later required treatment at a burn unit for second-degree burns to her face and scalp. Officials said the injuries were not considered life-threatening, and all six alleged victims were reported to be in stable condition.
