A dentist in Texas is facing charges after a traffic stop and a brief chase led to his third arrest relating to illegal use and possession of nitrous oxide.

At the beginning of October, a 39-year-old man who has been a dentist for approximately 13 years had his first of three run-ins with the authorities when he was reportedly caught with Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) and arrested for possession of a volatile chemical. The following month, someone called the authorities to report that a person who appeared to be unconscious and possibly in need of medical help. The police went to the scene and approached a vehicle with an individual sitting in the driver’s seat. He was identified as the suspect from the October arrest, and when the authorities asked him to get out of the car, he allegedly ignored the command. It was reported that the officers noticed he had a canister in his hand, and he appeared to have inhaled something from it while they were watching. When he finally stepped out of the vehicle, he was reportedly unsteady on his feet. The police searched inside the car, and they allegedly found over 100 canisters. The man was taken into custody and charged with inhalant paraphernalia.

On February 9, he was reportedly speeding and deputies tried to perform a traffic stop. The man allegedly kept driving for approximately half a mile before pulling over. Again, the authorities reportedly discovered over 100 canisters of Nitrous Oxide in the vehicle.

A sheriff’s deputy in southeastern Florida was arrested and fired after he was accused of smuggling ecstasy concealed in candy wrappers on a cruise ship with the alleged intent of selling it.

According to reports, at the end of 2024, someone notified the authorities and told them that they believed a 36-year-old Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputy was selling drugs. An investigation was opened, and on December 20, a confidential informant met with the suspect and allegedly bought 12 MDMA pills.

Law enforcement agents from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Miami-Dade State Attorney Office’s Public Corruption Prosecution Unit worked together. They reported that they learned the man was planning to attend the “Allure of the Seas Groove Cruise.” The event is a 4-day excursion described as “a journey into the heart of dance music onboard one of the ten largest cruise ships to ever navigate the oceans.” It was purported that he was planning to bring drugs onboard that he planned to sell to others at the music festival.

Two Texas men are facing multiple charges after they were arrested in connection with thefts from hotel parking lots in several cities.

Early in the morning on January 4, the authorities received a report about a potential car theft that was happening at the Holiday Inn Express in Sweetwater. Officers from the Sweetwater Police Department went to the hotel to investigate. When they arrived, they found one of the suspects sitting in a car in the hotel parking lot. The officers reported that the man they believed was the second suspect fled the scene and entered the woods near the property.

Drones, thermal imaging equipment, and a K9 were used in the search for the man, and he was quickly found.

A man and woman in Georgia are each facing several drug charges after the police reportedly found a large amount of narcotics in their possession and accused them of trafficking.

According to reports, at the end of November, several citizens called the authorities with complaints about an apartment in the Forsyth Garden Apartments complex. When the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office went to the address with a warrant and searched the residence, they reportedly found cocaine, marijuana, and prescription pain medications. The man who lives in the apartment was arrested and charged and later released on bond.

After his release, the police reported that they were informed that the man was still selling narcotics. On December 30, they were granted a search warrant, and deputies returned to the apartment to investigate. When they went inside, they reported that a female was also in the residence. They allegedly uncovered 59.1 grams of crack cocaine, 9.3 grams of powder cocaine, 140 grams of marijuana, and multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia during their search.

A Florida man was arrested on multiple charges after he was arrested for allegedly found with drugs in his vehicle including enough fentanyl to kill over 50,000 people.

On the morning of September 17, a deputy with the Hillsboro County Sheriff’s Office was near I-75 when they performed what they expected would be a routine traffic stop. They identified the 38-year-old man and found out that he was a convicted felon in Florida. The deputy saw that the man was holding an object between his knees, and it was identified as the type of torch often used for smoking drugs. According to reports, the man told them he had a history of methamphetamine use.

Backup deputies arrived, including a K9, who alerted the law enforcement agents that there were likely drugs in the vehicle. A search reportedly revealed stashes of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana, in addition to a digital scale, and a pistol. The authorities reported that the fentanyl he was allegedly carrying was enough to kill 51,500 people.

A pair in Tennessee are facing multiple charges after the authorities reportedly uncovered fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, a handgun, and $33,772 during a search of their residence.

According to reports, the authorities suspected drug sales were taking place out of a home in Chattanooga, and they obtained a search warrant so they could further investigate. On September 10, a man and woman were at the address when detectives with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Special Investigations Unit, accompanied by agents from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team arrived.

When the police announced their presence, they reported that the woman came outside after a bit, but the man stayed inside the house. They continued to encourage the man to cooperate, and a short time later he walked out the front door. According to reports, both suspects were cooperative after leaving the residence.

A North Carolina man was arrested on nearly a dozen charges after he was accused of being the perpetrator of the armed robberies of two local convenience stores.

On September 5, the authorities were alerted when one of the Circle K convenience stores in Fayetteville reported that they experienced an armed robbery. The following day, another Circle K in Fayetteville reported that they, too, had been robbed by someone with a gun.

The Fayetteville Police Department opened an investigation and began trying to identify the suspect. Shortly after, someone who chose to remain anonymous told them they knew who was involved in the armed robberies. The man was tracked down and found at a private residence.

A corrections officer who worked at a detention facility in Tennessee was arrested when the way he was driving caught the attention of a trooper who believed he was intoxicated. 

On August 16, a man who was a lieutenant at the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility was driving a Chevrolet Sonic down a highway in Vonore when he found himself accused of being on the wrong side of the law. A trooper from the Tennessee Highway Patrol noticed his vehicle and believed he was driving faster than the posted speed limit. They also felt he was operating the car unsafely by failing to stay in his designated lane.

The trooper performed a traffic stop, and the man pulled over without incident. When they began to interact, the trooper thought it smelled like alcohol in the vehicle. He also reported that the driver displayed several indicators of intoxication. When he was asked about the situation, the man chose to exercise his right to remain silent. Additionally, he chose not to participate in roadside sobriety testing.

A Philadelphia man is facing a multitude of charges after he was accused of attempting to steal a woman’s car while she was trying to put gas in the vehicle.

Early in the evening on August 14, a woman pulled into a Sunoco station in Feasterville to put gasoline in her car. She parked in front of one of the pumps and got out of the vehicle with her keys in her hand. After she began pumping the gas, a man driving a red truck pulled into the station and stopped near her car.

The driver reportedly got out of the truck and walked over to the woman’s car. He allegedly opened the passenger door and got inside, and then slid over to the driver’s side. He reportedly acted like he intended to steal the vehicle, but he was unable to start it since the owner had the fob. According to reports, when he realized it would not start he got out of the car and headed back to his truck and immediately drove away.

A Florida woman is facing multiple felony charges after the police reportedly found her in possession of a purse labeled “Bag of Drugs,” which was allegedly filled with narcotics and paraphernalia.

Late in the morning on July 27 in St. Petersburg, a 41-year-old woman was riding as a passenger in her vehicle while her friend was at the wheel. A trooper from the Florida Highway Patrol spotted the vehicle and reported that they believed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver pulled over without incident.

When the trooper walked up to the car, they went to the passenger side. When they first looked inside the vehicle, they reportedly saw a piece of foil and a plastic straw on the floor and believed it had been used for drug consumption. The rest of the interior was searched, and in addition to an open container of alcohol, the authorities found a purse marked with the words “Bag of Drugs.”
