During a string of reported burglaries, an Iowa man allegedly broke into a bank in the middle of the night and made off with their hand sanitizer, but left the money untouched.

39-year-old Mark Gray was convicted last year on a burglary charge, and the man, who lives in Sioux City, is still on probation for the offense.

On August 4, Gray allegedly showed up at the Security National Bank around midnight.

An Iowa woman walked into a police station and allegedly requested they check a substance identified as methamphetamine for her so she could see if it had been contaminated with the novel coronavirus.

Around 1:00 pm on April 5, officers at the Sioux City Police Department reported that a woman covered in sweat with the appearance and demeanor of someone under the influence of an illicit substance entered the building and walked up to them.

When they began to interact with the woman, identified as 53-year-old Sioux City resident Shawn Salmen, she allegedly asked the police if they would consider testing her drugs to be sure they were not tainted with COVID-19.

On Wednesday morning a Sioux City man allegedly locked himself inside of the front porch at a stranger’s home, and began sexually pleasuring himself while simultaneously smoking methamphetamine.

The woman occupant of a house containing a front porch noticed an unfamiliar man in the enclosure on January 10 around 8:20 AM.

30-year-old Leland Purgett arrived at the home and allegedly entered the structure. He was able to locate the keys to the house, and he secured himself inside the porch area. With the female occupant of the home in view Purgett reportedly began masturbating in front of her while he was concurrently smoking methamphetamine.
