An Oregon teen was jailed without bail after allegedly attacking an elderly woman on a trail behind a public library and leaving her unconscious and seriously injured.

Fanno Creek Trail is located behind the Tigard Public Library in the Portland area, and it is a popular spot where locals walk and enjoy the outdoors. While it is typically known as a safe place, on the evening of August 3, a violent incident occurred. According to reports, an 82-year-old woman was walking on the path, and she noticed a young man behind her. A few moments later, the individual reportedly assaulted her and ran off, leaving her lying on the ground. Bicyclers rode past and spotted the unconscious alleged victim, and they called the authorities to report the situation and ask for help.

Officers from the Tigard Police Department went to the location, and the woman was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. Many locations nearby, including the library, had surveillance cameras that record the spot where the alleged attack occurred. The police collected the footage, and they reported that they saw video of the suspect in the downtown area, in addition to a picture of him in the library. They believed the perpetrator was an 18-year-old local man, and they circulated his picture to ask the public to help them find him.
