Wyoming Sergeant Accused of Stalking Nurse

A Wyoming police sergeant was accused of stalking and harassing a nurse at a hospital, leading to his arrest and removal from duty, according to court records.

The incident allegedly continued for hours overnight at a hospital in Weston County. Court documents stated that the nurse received repeated phone calls and text messages from the sergeant while he remained outside the facility. The alleged victim reportedly asked him to stop, but the messages allegedly persisted.

According to the affidavit, hospital staff later reported seeing a man believed to be the sergeant outside the building around 3:30 a.m. The individual was reportedly dressed in dark clothing and appeared to be lingering near the hospital.

As the nurse prepared to leave work shortly before 4 a.m., the situation allegedly escalated. Court documents stated that the sergeant was seen moving toward the alleged victim’s vehicle as she left the hospital. A Weston County law enforcement officer was present at the time and told him that the woman did not want to speak with him.

The affidavit alleged that the sergeant responded with profanity and ignored the warning. He then allegedly began running toward the vehicle despite being ordered to leave the area.

Investigators said the nurse had earlier received a series of threatening messages. In one exchange, the sergeant allegedly told her she had only a few minutes to come outside or answer her phone. He also allegedly warned that he would enter the hospital if she did not respond. Authorities did not explain what prompted the incident.

Following the encounter, the 36-year-old sergeant was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery and threatening another person with a drawn deadly weapon.

According to the affidavit, the authorities found a loaded Glock 48 handgun on him at the time of his arrest with one round in the chamber and 10 rounds in the magazine, in addition to a large folding knife, brass knuckles, and a cellphone.

The sergeant was subsequently relieved of his duties.
