A man accused of carrying a gun around in an apartment complex was taken into custody after the police chased him and allegedly found him in possession of drugs and the firearm. 

Late in the morning on August 26, someone called the authorities and told them that a man holding a firearm was walking around their apartment complex. 

Officers with the Portage Police Department went to the reported address to investigate.

 A Miami police officer was arrested after he was allegedly caught with bags of cocaine in a patrol car with over three times the legal BAC. 

32-year-old Jeffrey Jose Marcano has been employed with the Miami Police Department for eight years. 

According to the authorities, on August 20, the Miami Police Department Anti-Corruption Unit began an investigation after someone reported that they believed Marcano was involved in “possible wrongdoing.”

When the authorities walked up to a man who was using a pipe and determined that he was smoking meth, the suspect reportedly informed them that methamphetamine is now legal in the Sunshine state. 

According to his arrest record, 31-year-old Enzo Zabala-Cardozo is from St. Petersburg, Florida, and he is currently without permanent housing. 

Early in the morning on August 4, Zabala-Cardoza was reportedly standing in an alley when officers with the St. Petersburg Police Department noticed him. They thought they saw a glass pipe and a lighter in his hands. As they got closer, the police alleged that he was holding the pipe to his lips and trying to light it with the lighter.

According to a press release from the Troupe County Sheriff’s Office, a detention officer has been accused of bringing contraband into the county jail and selling narcotics to several inmates. 

The Sheriff’s Office sergeant disclosed in a news release that 23-year-old Steven Michael Crowder began his position as a Troup County Sheriff’s Office detention officer at the Troupe County Jail in Georgia at the start of 2022. 

It was reported that last month, the authorities learned of allegations that Crowder was smuggling narcotics into the institution for the purpose of selling them to some of the inmates.

A teen accused of driving under the influence after crashing his car in Santa Rosa was allegedly found with drugs and a ghost gun in his residence.

19-year-old Luis Fajardo Melgoza lives in Santa Rosa, California.

Around 6:30 am on July 25, Melgoza was driving locally in a gray Honda Accord.

Two Washington men were indicted by a grand jury after they allegedly put 9,000 fentanyl pills in potato chip containers and smuggled them into Whatcom County.  

Earlier this month, Special agents with Homeland Security Investigations Pacific Northwest received information that caused them to believe that a criminal organization from Mexico was smuggling fentanyl into Washington state. 

The authorities believed that Juan E. Hernandez-Hernandez and Alejandro Macias-Velazquez, residents of Washington, were involved in the smuggling.

Congressman Steve Womack’s son, who has a history of drug-related legal offenses, was arrested when he was allegedly caught with methamphetamine. 

34-year-old James Womack is the son of U.S. Representative Steve Womack, R-Arkansas. 

Womack had several prior legal issues over the span of approximately two decades, and many of them have been drug-related. He was convicted of drug charges in 2010 and 2019.

A convicted felon who was accused of stealing a boat reportedly tried to escape from the police by fleeing on a riding lawnmower. 

40-year-old Dusty Mobley is from Holt, Florida. According to county jail records, Mobley has a long history of arrests and convictions that began in 2004. 

On January 1, a boat was reported stolen from a metal building in Baker.

A man was reportedly caught at an airport with more than one dozen bricks of cocaine hidden in his wheelchair. 

34-year-old Gabriel Ruiz lives in Union City, New Jersey. 

On June 21, Ruiz landed at the Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport after he left Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The man was using a “Jazzy 614” model electric wheelchair during his travels.

A Florida man dressed in cow-print pajamas was one of six people arrested in an Okeechobee County home when the authorities reportedly discovered drugs, ammo, and paraphernalia in the dwelling.

On June 17, members from the Narcotics Task Force and the Special Response Team at the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office acted on a warrant to search a home believed to be involved in drug activity.

When they entered the residence, the authorities noted that six people were present.
