Early in the morning on October 5, a man was asleep in the bed he shared with his girlfriend when she abruptly woke him up. When he opened his eyes, she was allegedly standing next to him with a knife in her hand and was holding it against his throat. According to reports, the man takes a prescription drug for anxiety, and he had shared them with her in the past. It was reported that after the man took the knife, his girlfriend got a different one and continued assaulting him. He calmed her down and called 911, and officers from the Altoona Police Department went to the residence. When they arrived, they reported that they found a knife that they believed was used during the incident. They also noted that there were drops of what they thought was fresh blood dotting the kitchen floor and the walls in one of the hallways.
