A man from Nigeria is facing charges after allegedly targeting women on dating sites and scamming over $3 million by getting them to agree to give him money for family expenses.

According to reports, between December 2019 and December 2023, someone using online dating accounts with profiles containing the name “Giovanni,” began talking to women, most of whom were widowed or divorced. When chatting with the women, the user presented themselves as a male officer in the U.S. military who was currently on an overseas deployment.

The women, each led to believe they were in a relationship with the user, understood when they were told they could not meet in person since he said he was on an official military mission. The authorities reported that the account holder asked the women to give them money for various reasons. One woman was told he had to pay a $150,000 fine for telling her where he was stationed, and she agreed to foot part of the bill. She sold her home and utilized her deceased spouse’s retirement fund to get a loan, and the woman was ultimately bilked of $2.3 million before being notified that the person she believed was her boyfriend was killed in the line of duty. In two other cases, women were asked for financial help to pay for the man’s father’s funeral expenses.

A mother from Texas is facing serious charges after she reportedly locked her 12-year-old daughter out of their apartment, forcing her to spend the night outside sleeping on a bench, and then allegedly told the authorities that the girl ran away.

On August 31, the mother and daughter reportedly had a disagreement. According to reports, the argument started when the daughter wanted to invite a friend over to the residence to hang out. Things escalated, and her mother allegedly kicked her out of the apartment. The girl tried several times to get back in but was repeatedly denied entry, and she spent the night sleeping outdoors on a bench in the apartment complex.

The next morning, around 7 a.m., the girl walked over to a nearby Houston Police Department location to report what had happened the prior evening. After hearing her story, they began investigating the case.

A man in Texas who worked as a cook in a restaurant was allegedly caught sticking his genitals in food items, which reportedly led to the police finding his stash of child pornography.

At the beginning of April, the manager at Kulture Restaurant in Houston notified the authorities about one of their employees tainting the food. They reported that they had video of it, and a deputy from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department went to the location to investigate.

The manager presented the deputy with the video, and the deputy reportedly confirmed that it appeared as if the cook put his penis in the food. According to reports, when he was asked about it, the man said he used the jelly to satisfy his sexual urges. He also reportedly said he believes he needs help. The restaurant closed, and all the food was thrown in the garbage.

A mother and daughter in Texas who reportedly do not have licenses to practice medicine were busted for allegedly administering injectable butt implants and doling out narcotic prescription drugs to several patients.

According to reports, a 56-year-old woman and her 18-year-old daughter earn their living by traveling around the United States making house calls to customers to perform a butt implant procedure using an injectable medication. They reportedly do not have medical licenses in this country, but the mother attended medical school in Mexico for three years. The woman has reportedly been performing the procedure for several years. When she spoke to a news outlet, she said she puts her heart into her work and provides a service to help others.

At the end of March, the Federal Drug Administration and the Houston Police Department were investigating the woman’s activities. They knew she went to the private homes of her clients to do the work, so they set up a sting inside a house in Houston and had an undercover agent book an appointment.

When two drivers in Texas got into a road rage-inspired situation, they both reportedly sprayed each other in the face with white spray paint, and one of them was taken into custody.

On August 4, a man was allegedly driving erratically in Houston in a busy part of the city. The driver was reportedly weaving in and out of his lane. When the man stopped at a traffic light, he reportedly did not immediately proceed when it turned from red to green. The driver of the car behind him tooted their horn in a purported attempt to get his attention.

After both cars were again in motion, the man who reportedly idled at the green light for too long allegedly began to throw items from their car. The items started striking the other vehicle, and the driver believed it was an intentional act. Both cars came to a stop again, and the situation reportedly escalated.

An 18-year-old woman was reportedly chained up and held captive while she was raped by a couple in a Texas home for nearly a month until she found a way to escape.

According to reports, a 33-year-old man met and allegedly pretended to be romantically interested in an 18-year-old woman. The man reportedly lives with his 29-year-old then-pregnant girlfriend in their Houston residence.

As time passed and the man and teenager got closer, she reportedly decided to move into his home. She reportedly believed they were going to take their relationship to the next level by cohabitating.

A Houston man is facing charges after he allegedly stole an ambulance from a hospital and smashed into several cars at two fast food restaurants. 

On the evening of July 31, it was reported that a Houston Fire Department ambulance that was parked outside of the West Houston Medical Center hospital was stolen. 

According to reports, the alleged thief drove down the road to a fast food restaurant and slammed into three cars parked in the parking lot.

A mother in Texas lost her job as a deputy and is facing felony charges after being accused of using a taser to abuse her three children.

34-year-old Xochitl Ortiz resides in a home in Houston, Texas. She lives with and financially provides for her three sons, ages 11, 12, and 16.

Ortiz has worked in law enforcement as a deputy constable at the Harris County Constable’s Office for the past two years.

A man in Houston allegedly used a gun to steal an ambulance that was en route to the hospital with a patient.

Last Friday morning, a Houston Fire Department ambulance was transporting a patient to a local hospital.

The driver, a firefighter EMT, and the patient were traveling in the vehicle when a car reportedly came to a complete stop in front of them and blocked their way.

A father was arrested last week when he was allegedly caught street racing in West Houston with two youngsters in the back seat of the vehicle.

According to Houston authorities, the amount of street racing taking place in the area has increased exponentially and has led to approximately 100 recent arrests.

Around 5:00 PM on March 27, a deputy constable on patrol spotted two vehicles traveling on the road at a speed that led him to believe they were racing each other.
