A road trip reportedly went south when a teenage girl who was found outside a closed convenience store told the authorities that her mother ditched her and drove away after threatening to stab her.

Early in the morning on November 9, a 42-year-old woman and her 13-year-old daughter were traveling through Tannersville, Pennsylvania, on their way back to their New York home. According to reports, they were struggling to get along with each other. The mom pulled into the parking lot of a convenience store, which was closed at the time. Their argument continued, and the girl’s mother tried to take away her iPad, which reportedly caused the situation to escalate.

It was reported that the woman drove away and left her daughter, and when the authorities got involved, they each provided a different account of what happened. The teenager, who was found at a different gas station nearby to the one where she was allegedly abandoned, said her mom threatened to stab her before she left in the car without her. She reported that she waited in the parking lot for a couple of hours and then headed to the location where she was found.

A Florida man who reportedly passed out in the driver’s seat was arrested when the police allegedly found he had drugs and a hidden child in his truck.

In the middle of December, a 25-year-old man from Wildwood was sitting in a Dodge Ram near the gate of the Village of Hemingway on the Sumter County side of the Villages.

At around 3:00 AM, a deputy from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office spotted the vehicle, which displayed Illinois license plates. The deputy noticed it was idle and had what appeared to be one of the front tires elevated on the median. They decided to go over to the spot to investigate the situation.

A well-known business owner and member of the Cherryville, Florida, community is facing charges for allegedly using a hidden camera to capture videos of girls, some of which were underage, without their knowledge while they were showering on his yacht.

Richard Hilliard Jr. is a 49-year-old man who is a member of the family that owns a foam molding company called Modern Polymers. He and his family are known throughout their community due to the popularity of their business.

Hilliard is the proprietor of a person yacht which he named “Yacht’s O’ Trouble,” and he extended an invitation to eight young women, one of which was his former babysitter, to join him on the vessel for an excursion. He also recruited the mother of his ex-babysitter as a chaperone for the three underage girls and five young women he planned to entertain.

An elementary school special education teacher has been accused of stealing iPads that belong to the school district and reselling them for profit. Her boyfriend is also a suspect in the purported activity.

42-year-old Amanda Mirkovich has been employed with the Clark County School District in Las Vegas since 2013. For the past three years, she has been on an assignment as a special needs teacher at Tate Elementary School.

During the course of an investigation, authorities were sorting through the transaction records from the local pawn shops on April 3 when they discovered three iPads that raised their suspicions. Upon further inspection, they learned that the electronics had black stickers placed on the underside that seemed unusual. When the stickers were removed an engraving saying “Property of the Clark County School District” was revealed beneath the concealing label.

A second-grade special education teacher was allegedly hit in the face by a student with autism in her class when she removed his iPad from his possession and he became upset. The teacher has filed battery charges against the child in response to the incident.

DJ, an 8-year-old boy who suffers from autism, is a student in the second grade at the Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Autism is defined as a condition which can present itself in a multitude of ways affecting social skills, communication, and behavior. The varying symptoms and manifestations of those with autism have been linked to “different combinations of genetic and environmental influences.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that as many as 1 out of every 68 children in America are diagnosed with autism.

A housekeeper in Tennessee has been charged with theft for accusations that she has stolen items from two of the homes that she was hired to clean.

36-year-old Cynthia Ward is the proprietor of the Chapmansboro based cleaning service Cynthia’s Housekeeping.

In December 2017 Ward cleaned the condominium of a client who returned home to find an Ipad, some gift cards, cash, a designer label planner, and a camera missing from their residence. The owner notified the authorities and reported the $4,400 worth of absent possessions, many of which were baby shower gifts she had received.
