Two mothers from Arizona were arrested when the police accused them of drinking at a bar for hours and leaving their youngsters alone in their vehicle with a bag of marijuana.

Late in the evening on March 8, two moms in Glendale were driving near the Westgate Entertainment District with four young children, one of whom was an infant in a safety seat. The driver pulled into the lot and parked the car, and both women reportedly got out, but allegedly left the children alone in the vehicle when they walked away. While they were gone, the authorities showed up and met with a bystander who called the police when she reportedly saw a youngster running around the parking lot by herself. She reported that she also found the others in the car without supervision. Upon searching the vehicle, one of the officers allegedly found a bag of marijuana in the glove compartment.

The police went to a few establishments in the center to see if they could find the mothers of the children, but they were unsuccessful. They reportedly stayed with the kids for 45 minutes before the women returned to the car. When asked, both mothers said they went into the Salt Tacos y Tequila bar and restaurant to use the bathroom and were not gone for long. The officers reported that they smelled alcohol on the women, who allegedly added that they had a drink while there.
