The manager of a Subway in northeastern Florida was arrested after allegedly grabbing a juvenile at the restaurant and trapping her behind a closed door as her mother struggled to get her back.

On July 21, the manager on duty at a Subway restaurant in Jacksonville had just finished mopping a section of the floor in the lobby when a woman and her 10-year-old daughter entered the eatery. While they were there, they reportedly had an unexpected encounter with the man that led to his arrest. The youngster walked onto the area where the manager had just mopped, and he allegedly became angry about what was purported to be a careless act. His response to the situation was reportedly frightening, and the authorities were alerted.

When deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office showed up, they talked to the child’s mother, and she provided them with her version of the incident. She told them that after her daughter stepped on the recently washed floor, she told the child to say she was sorry for the mishap. In what the woman initially thought was a joke, the manager reportedly took the youngster by the hand and led her to the back of the eatery, where he allegedly put her in a room. She reported that when she tried to get her daughter back, the man closed the door and blocked her until she argued with him and became frantic.
